I need some help figuring out my crank HP and torque numbers. As stated earlier, my vette pulled 350 RWHP @ 5800 on a Dyno Jet. After installing a new DUI distributor a few months ago, it still pulled the same 350 RWHP, but the RWT jumped up to 399 and I can definitely feel the difference...
I have B&B on my 85 383 Super Ram, Lingenfelter 219/219 with Lingenfelter 1 &3/4 long tube headers. It sounds awesome and I sure can't sneak up on anyone. The exhaust note is definitely not a sleeper. If I idle through an underground parking lot, I generally set off a few motion sensing alarm...
I have them on the rear of my 85 on American Racing wheel Torque Thrust IIs that are 11 inches wide. They do not rub anywhere, but there is barely enough room to get your fingers between the tire and the frame of the car. They look great. I have 275 17s on the front with Torque Thrust II 9.5...
I put a ZZ383 in my 85, Lingenfelter Super Ram, AFR 190 competition heads, Lingenfelter 219/219 cam, Accel Gen 7 computer, Lingenfelter 1 3/4 headers, 10:8:1 compression ratio, and just about everything else that you can think of. It is not on the bottle or supercharged. All I have to say is...
A 3.07 came in my 85 Z51. When I went to a 383 super ram, I changed my D36 to 3.54s. At 70 MPH the engine is turning 2300 RPM. The 3.54 is the ideal ratio for better acceleration and highway cruising.
This ordeal with Golen Engine Service was one terrible bad dream. He was stubborn to the very end and tried his best to discredit my case, but was unable to do so because it was rock solid. I hired a good lawyer and we worked him over. He and his lawyer even tried to have my case thrown out by...
Well after two years in the shop (most of the time it was just sitting there and no work was be done on it as the mechanic was working on numerous other cars that arrived after mine) I got it back about two months ago. The ZZ383 block with the Air Flow Research heads, Gen VII with wide band...
I would be elated if mine runs 11's. Do you think that I really need a high stall torgue converter with my setup? If so, which one would you recommend? Thanks.
Thanks for the info. I will pass the -2 degrees to my machanic. I could live with 370 rwhp. Your rwhp numbers of 353 for your 357 are impressive. I would be happy with anything on the north side of 350 rwhp for my 383. As you said, if you put 3.54 rear gears in yours, it would run stronger...
I sure wish someone had warned me before I bought from them. I'm told that the antifreeze stain in the bottom of the number eight cylinder is probably due to the engine being freeze damaged when they built it. In other words, they probably started with a bad core. Recall that core 350 blocks...
Scroggins-Dickey did not give any performance numbers, but if it does not pull at least 380 RWHP I will be very dissapointed. I will let you know after it is dyno tuned in about six weeks.
