Okay, that could be one of two things (i think) 1) your light bulb for the climate controls. This connects to the top of the center console in the middle so the climate controls are lit up OR 2) the light bulb for the gear shifter if an auto.
White is always a classy corvette colour. And red is certainly the staple for sports cars. However, I am partial to blue, sort of like the black it has to be done right or it just doesn't look good. When people see the car they either love the colour or hate it there doesn't seem to be any...
I just did mine, I only replaced the motor as the fan was okay and I don't use the air much anyhow. Yes it is in a tight spot! After I removed all the screws via the side vent and pulled out the unit i disconnected the fan from the motor while still in the car, then the motor will drop down...
I also have the exact same oil drip as you described. Pretty sure it is the rear main seal as the pan gasket seems to be okay. It is just a small regular oil drip. Not looking forward to replacing!! good luck with yours
Well, I think you just desrcibed a bad cam with worn lobes. If that is the original it wouldn't surprise me. GM had a lot of trouble with cams in the early 80's. I repalced mine 2 years ago. It had the exact symptoms as you describe. The lobes were worn so bad that one cylinder was just along...
I had this similiar problem as well last year. Try simply changing the light bulb first. Both the front and rear light and signal indicater in car came on but stayed on, no blinking. I simply replaced the rear tail light and everything worked just great. However, that was just on one side.
I had this same problem last year. I replaced the cam, lifters and rods etc. The cam lobes were very worn. Now the engines purrs!! no ticking, I am pretty sure that it was contributed to the cam. Good luck with yours
Nothing like that on my 81, only the shifter light and it is not that bright as you describe. You are probably right..it was BUBBAISED. I have a light in the glove box turns on when open and turns off when glove box closed.
The exhaust would not effect anything. From what you described it sounds like a fuel problem and is probably carb related. Sometimes it is just trial error before finding the issue.
Well it could be a number of things, however it sounds like a fuel issue. I would check the fuel filter, accelarator pump, fuel pump, vacuum lines, EGR valve. Stock timing is 6 BTDC. Most of the guys you will find advance them to 10-14. I have mine set at 10. Remember to disconnect your vacuum...
Hi Gents, I am trying to pin down my idle problem. When cqar is initally started up and is warm it idles not to bad. However, when car is driven about 2 mile or so the idle seems to be worse. It idles at about 750-800 rpm but it just sounds and feels a bit off almost like it is missing. I have...
Don't mean to hijack the thread. but no sense in opening a new one when my problem is basically the same. Here is the problem...
My lights operate pretty good, they pop up quick with the right one sometimes being a little slower and they both go down quick and together. However, when they go...
