So last night I went out into the dark garage started the engine and immediately saw the arching from the number 5 plug wire which had come off the spark plug. Problem solved. Thanks again guys.

The other day I noticed a "clicking" sound almost like arcing coming from the distributor. The engine is running fine. The cap and rotor are less than a year old but I replaced the rotor anyway. Any ideas?

Unfortunately not. I need the locking sleeve which is inserted into the hub so that the horn contact spring is locked in place. I am still trying to determine if it is a separate (hopefully) piece or part of the hub. Thanks anyway.

I do have a recommendation from my mechanic for a transmission shop. Since it is shifting fine and it's almost time for winter hibernation I will wait till spring if I need further diagnosis. Thanks for your reply.

Changing the transmission fluid, filter, and gasket, draining out all of the pieces of shrapnel that have been ground off the transmission over the years, adjusting the bands if necessary. AKA transmission service.

I have an issue with my 1980 Corvette shifter not always engaging when I shift into drive. I have to take it out of drive and then shift it again. I had the transmission tuned and the shop couldn't find anything wrong. Any ideas?
