    Help! Radio

Be sure the ground connection for the radio goes to a good ground point, even if you have to run the ground wire to a new connection to the aluminum panel under your dash panel.

Have you fixed your alternator? I'm confused. Is it a bad alternator, or a bad interior lights module? Or what?

    1985 Radio Issue

How long have you owned the car? Is this a new problem? Do you have 12 v. at the RADIO fuse after you turn off the ignition? If "yes", does the radio go off if you pull that fuse? There are two pink wires in the circuit. Your comment seems to be referencing the pink between the...

    Question: C4 Alarm Problem

Since your problem only happens occasionally, the problem is probably that the door switches need to be adjusted for more travel. They both need to be "open circuit" switches when the door is closed. Maybe a small spacer could be glued to your door jamb where the switches touch, if the...

    Wet Carpet Ppassenger Side.

Why have you posted this question twice? Hoping for two different answers?

Crossfire - replacement / upgrade efi - what do people here use?

May I ask why? The Renegade with CFI should have you running just as good as the later TPI! You might consider going to a 383 if you're looking for more! Your Renegade /CFI can handle it. Any other injection system will require an ECM upgrade, too. :cool

'84 corvette- Throttle Position Sensor (check engine code)

Code 21 is TPS signal voltage high. Have you verified that the TPS voltage at idle position is very close to 0.525 v. on pin B, with ground probe of your DVM on pin A? (Per '84 FSM, pg. 6E2-68.) The voltage should rise smoothly to a full throttle voltage of about 5.0 v. (FSM pg. 6E2-66)...

    REALLY strange oil leak...

As you probably know, the heads are interchangeable left for right. Are you asking about a hole that would be a front mounting hole if that head were installed on the right side? Is it drilled too deep, going into the rocker arm space? :cool

    Inconsistent spark...

That's normal. That's the way 4 cycle engines operate. Are you getting fuel? Have you tried any starting fluid sprayed into the intake? Are you sure ignition timing is correct, with #1 spark plug firing at the top of the compression stroke? Did you rebuild the engine yourself? Are...

Exhaust Questions from a first time Corvette owner

You did good! Flowmasters are known for their drone. Some put up with it, because the performance is slightly better, but I would agree with the trade-off you have chosen. The ECM in these cars is pretty good, so it's likely there was some self-tuning after you had driven the car for a...

Help! C4 ZR1 Activation of Air Conditioning blows out new Alternators

My first guess would be a bad compressor clutch or a bad secondary fan motor. Disconnect those, then watch your volt meter as you turn on your a/c. If the voltage drops significantly, turn off the a/c. It's something else. Time to see your a/c mechanic again. :cool

Unknown red indicator on center console..what is it?

You're asking the same question. Are you expecting a different answer from the same question? :cool

LT4 Alternator and serpentine belt help

I believe there are marks on your tensioner to indicate the proper length belt. The single mark on the moveable arm should be between the two marks on the stationary bracket. I haven't had problems with Pep Boys. They're just Chevy parts! :cool

92 vette Fuse #1 blown, new fuse blows immediately HELP!

That "CTSY LAMP" circuit is quite complex! Without a wiring diagram, you'll have trouble tracing those locations. A common problem: Has a coin slipped into your lighter socket? To keep from needing a bucket full of fuses during your search, here's a gadget I built to help find a short...
