You know the V8 sound really is difficult to replace when its so damn good!
I believe keeping the V8 and using the technology to improve both performance and economy is an asset to a corporation that has a demand for so many V8's in trucks etc. At this stage of the game its a win win...
What about going the other way?
I'm replacing tires soon and was considering stock C5 tires on the front, and the 295/35R18's on the rear of my stock C5 rims.
I thought they should fit as I have the 315/35R17's on my 89 with stock wheels with no issues.
Do your research - you'll find that spending the big bucks (PIAA) doesn't always get you the best result. Besides you're comparing expensive old technology with modern, do the math - Good Luck!
