6 speed in my C5. It was a requirement. I sold my C4 mainly because the 4+3 was too much like an automatic. I use the wife's automatic Honda for stop and go highway driving.

My stock C5 scrapes the front spoiler on my not very steep driveway where my C4 never did. Why on earth anyone would want to make these front ends lower is beyond me. (competition cars excepted) There's only about 2 inches of clearance as it is.

Will bring the '99 to the track in about a month. What do I do about the active handling feature? My instinct says to hit the button and turn the thing off.
Thanks,

Nothing to add. Just want to reinforce several things.
1. Stay out of the water
2. Go on the last yellow- you will use up the 0.5 seconds in reaction time.
3. Leave it in Drive-consistency and reaction times are EVERYTHING in bracket racing. Best time means nothing. Anyway, the trans probably...
Wasn't racing anyone. We have a perfectly good drag strip nearby ( Englishtown) and that's where I do all my competing. It was just a matter of not taking into account how much poorer the grip was because of the damp road surface. Will not make that mistake again.

To tell the embarrasing truth, I'm new to this car and I thought I had it turned off because the dash icon wasn't lit. Luckily for me, the light off corresponds to the active control being on. Better to be lucky than smart. I'd better spend more time with the manual.

Active handling saved my bacon today. Took out the '99 coupe for a ride this morning. It was foggy and the road was wet. I was a little "injudicious" and came into a tight downhill right hander a little too fast considering the wet surface. Had I spun, I would have been collected by several cars...
WAYNE88: That's always been my opinion too. Synthethic oils don't create leaks but because of their superior flow properties are more adept at exploiting them. I switched my '88 over to 5w30 Mobil 1 at about 40,000 miles. No problems.

Whalepirot: I don't understand how the ECM and the fan switch can both do the job but the switch works fine in my '88. The Eckler's catalog has the 200 degree switch ( part # 40290 - $ 39.99 ) listed for 1984-1995. They have other switches which activated the fans at even lower temps.
