Purpose of the power valve on manual steering

Thanks I'll have to find that adjustment. Does the ball stud change direction when you turn the wheel back and forth? The sockets have cut outs in them which makes me thing they're supposed to. When I first took it apart I thought the sockets were totally worn out.

Purpose of the power valve on manual steering

I'm rebuilding the complete manual steering and front suspension on my 68 BB. All new tie rod ends, bushings and A-arms, but then I'm looking at the power valve (all greasy and looking 45yrs old. Seal is bad and metal case around it bent up. Took it apart and springs look good, 2 sockets have...

    High Temp Fabric

Hi All, After 2 years, I've finally installed the header side pipes on the 68. Fabricating a set of spiral baffles then its time to make some noise. Now that I'm approaching 59, I can't get in and out as easily as I used to. I'd like to find a pc of high temp fabric that I can roll out from the...

    Short throw adjustment on Muncie

Thanks Midnight, I found a thread on this topic and the author showed pictures of using a "locating gauge in neutral position" then to adjust linkage to 2nd hole. Guess that makes sense if I can get it in place w the body on. Has anyone else tried the locating gauge trick?

    Short throw adjustment on Muncie

Both my 68 and 67 have long throws when shifting and I'd like to look into moving the linkage down to the 2nd set of holes to shorten it up. It looks like it should be fairly easy but would like to get a few thoughts from other members who may have done it. My biggest concern is to make sure all...

    Question: 68 front spring

That's correct, bushings are probably original. I bought the car maybe 3-4 years ago and hadn't been titled since 83. Drug it out of a garage and started the repairs so I had not driven it before working on it. Never thought it may be from the bushings being bad.. Thanks

    Question: 68 front spring

I have a 68 427/400w approx 40k miles per what info I have.. probably 1/4 mile at a time.. now when I hit a hole in the road I get a major shake in the front end. I've rebuilt almost everything in the front end except the coil springs and rubber in the linkage. No power anything. Does this sound...

Question: 2004 Z06 Z16 in need of new gas tank??

All, Got my car back last week and sure enough, looked like it had been leaking from day 1. Either vapors or fuel the white connector that connects the cross over line was stained badly. New fuel tank and all is good. I never smelled it either so had to be minimal leak and I never got a recall...

Question: 2004 Z06 Z16 in need of new gas tank??

My 04 Z06 with only 8000 miles check engine light came on, so off to my favorite dealer to get it checked out. Showed that fuel tank wasn't holding pressure. A new fuel cap wasn't it so they did a smoke/nitrogen test and they suspect pass side tank is leaking on top. Tanks now out and they found...

    Craig Parliament (bossvette) Killed Sunday

I met Craig several years ago when he and I responded to a request from a fellow member (FirstGear) to help with the body removal from his 60 that he was starting. He picked me up in that red C5 in the pics. He sure did like his projects as mentioned earlier.RIP Craig, and sorry to your family...
