I did a similar thing, well sort of. I had a 1992 C4 that I sold with about 124,000 miles on it and upgraded to a black C5. I drove that as a daily driver as well until last year. I upgraded to a 2014 C7 Z51 with the 7 speed.
The 2014 is just an awesome car. You will be really impressed...
Hey experts out there - would you recommend changing the clutch fluid? I only have about 10K miles, but I don't think it's ever been done and the vehicle is a 2014. I've had it for one season, about to break it out again now.
Back when the weather was still warm I picked up a 2014 Z51 with the 7 speed manual. I absolutely love the car, it's a huge upgrade from my C5. One thing I've noticed, however, is at times it can be difficult to get the shifter to go all of the way into gear for first, sometimes for second...
If anyone is having this problem and wondering if this fix works -
I just picked mine up from the dealer after having it done. They charged me $294 in parts and $259 in labor, which seems outrageous, but... man it worked. Totally silent now. I had to convince them to look up the service...
In case anyone's reading this story I thought I'd follow up -
I did bring the car back to the upholstery place and showed them the problem. They argued a little, but kept the car to work on it. I just picked it up and it looks great! He said all he did was apply steam to the top and it...
Thank you, I thought so. The good news is that he supplied everything. I'm hoping he can fix it with the existing materials. Groan. Time to get ready for a fight. :bang
Have any of you had experience with this? I've searched this forum but couldn't find anything.
The glass separated from the fabric of the top. I went to a professional Auto Upholstery guy who seemed to know what he was doing. He did a great repair on my front seat, and also replaced the top...
Did you buy the top from tops on line and then bring it to a canvas place or a dealer for the install? I've been quoted $1500 for a new top, installed, but I'm considering ordering one and bringing it somewhere for installation. Thanks.
It might be worth finding that Rhino glue
I did a similar technique on my 2002. I used a 2x4 cut to the right length to put pressure on the window from inside the car. I used the two part epoxy instead of the Rhino glue, since I've used it before for other projects. The epoxy is wildly...
I checked the fuse and it seemed ok, so I brought it to the (*gasp*) dealer. They claim it's the headlight switch itself, on the steering column. They ordered the part and will replace it tomorrow.
We'll see! Hope they got it.
Sorry, I was travelling on business and so it wasn't on my radar for a week. I haven't checked the fuses yet. That's a good next step, although from the behavior I kinda doubt it. It seems more like a computer logic problem. It seems that if I do something else electrical it starts to work...
Headlights seem to always work. I haven't been able to check the taillights or other lights, for a funny reason. When I get the "bad" condition to happen, just putting the parking brake on to get out of the car makes all of the lights work normally again! Huh? Very weird. I can't tell if...
Yep. Tried that first. The brightness knob seems to work fine. When the lights are out fiddling with it has no effect. When they're on it does what it should.
Thanks.
On a 2002-
I have the "twilight sentinel" feature set to "off".
At night, when I turn on the headlights, the dash goes dark. If I cycle the headlight switch once or twice, they come on.
Seems to only happen when I first start the car.
If I turn twilight sentinel on - it seems to work just...
