It was the cam sprocket bolts. Once I removed the intake manifold on my way to the sensor, it was only another couple of bolts to remove the valley cover. Once removed I could see that the cam had shifted 1/4" to the rear. When I pried on the sprocket it was loose. I now have a new timing set...
Hello everyone. I have a weird one here. 2004 Z06 - box stock - 71,000 miles. Some times when making a left turn my check engine light turns on with a P0343 H code. I know it's the Cmp sensor code. The fact that there is an "H" after the code tells me it is something momentary. It doesn't happen...
Hib thanks for the response. I've read a few of your articles and posts with great interest. I have been running street class autocross about 10 weekends a year for 10 years, currently in an '04 Z06. I'm always looking for an edge that would help my performance on the track. What prompted my...
Has anyone made the swap to urethane "A" arm bushings on an '04 ZO6 ?
How has it affected your street ride quality ?
Have you noticed a difference while autocrossing ?
Thanks
Ken
I've done this fix. You don't have to drop the exhaust. You can't do it with a regular wrench though. It takes one of those articulated ratcheting box wrenches. There's not enough room to fit a socket and ratchet up in there, and not enough room to turn a conventional box wrench.

Ray we had a Chevy service manager at one of our Corvette club meetings a few months back. He said that some of the shifting forks inside the transmission are manufactured out of aluminum, and are prone to failure (bending) when the transmission is shifted hard. Chevy doesn't ( didn't at the time...
Before spending big $ try Hawk Ferro-Carbon performace pads. The ones I used on my autocross car were the street/club/autocross pads. I also installed stainless hoses. What a difference over the stock set-up. I bought mine through the Tire Rack web site.
Has anyone installed this kit on an '02 or '03 ? The company says the turn signal flasher should be modified to eliminate a problem with the "bulb out" sensing circuit. I checked the service manual to see how to get the flasher out of my car and it turns out you have to dismantle the whole...
In competitive mode or "off" Launch between 2200 / 2400 RPM. This yields a small amount of hop but hooks up pretty well and doesn't bog. Nail the gas as soon as you hook up.

JonM thanks for the reply. After I posted this inquiry I checked out "sequential turn signals" on Yahoo. There were a number of hits, but this seems to be the only guy doing it on Corvettes.
Thanks again!

At one point in the '60's there was an option available on the Ford T Bird that would sequentially blink the rear turn signals when signalling for a turn. Has anyone seen or heard of some electronic gizmo that would do this on a C5 ?

Don't repair only 1 shock. Those little #!#%& gears will all break sooner or later. Send them all. This from personal experience. Takes about 2 weeks.
