Can the FX3 ( electronic ride controll ) shocks be removed and replaced with standard shocks

Cool, I have disabled the controll and the light is off. I have one bad shock and cnt see soending 200 each to replace them. Is there a brand you would recomend?

What are you looking for in your ride? Handling, comfortable cruising?

Did your car come with the Z07 package as part of the FX3?

I would like a firm, but noth harsh ride. I dont know about the other, how can I tell?

Just noticed your in Battleground, Brush Prairie here

Go look in the center console and there will be a stocker on the underside of the lid. It will contain a list of your options.

Z07 is the heavy duty suspension.

A regular Bilstein shock should take care of your needs. I've ridden in a couple of cars with Koni shocks, but they were the manually adjustable ones. I liked the FX3 better

What are you going to do with the FX-3 shocks after you remove them?

Not sure at this time, I might keep them incase I sell the car in the future. Should I just have them rebuilt?

That's what I'm looking to do. I'd rather not take my 92 out of service while I'm waiting for Bilstein to return them.

If you want to sell the old shocks, I'm interested.

That is my suggestion. The FX3 system when working is great. Is it the shock or the actuator that is not working currently.

Bilstein rebuilt mine to the morrocca specs (stiffer) and I love it. They will also rebuild to the stock setting.

It is the shock, the gear on the top chipped and it does not hit the indexing stop. Now it turns 360 degrees, I wish I could just get the gear

If you do decide to change the shocks, I can recommend the standard Z51 shocks from the 96 model. The ride was firm but not harsh.

To repair that shock, will be 100 from bilstein.
