I figured it was probably a 70 amp but thought I would check with those of you who have had your vettes a while longer than me. Next issue is finding a chrome one that has the same style cases so my wiring will go back the way it is on the stock one.
Im looking into replacing my alternator and want a chrome one. Is there anything on the factory alternator that says what amperage it is? The car has factory ac and all the options. Im not sure what amperage i need or if there is a such thing as too much amperage. I know that too little isint...
The holley is probably overkill for the little bit of engine work that has been done. The deciding factors were the fact that it was cheaper than trying to rebuild a reman carb (with no guarantee on how long it will last) and also it is enough carb to handle any addtional engine work that may...
Hey there, Ive been having problems with my Q-jet carb such as flooding, irratic idle, stalling, and all kinds of other weirdness. That carb was great as long as you were in the throttle but at a stop, it was pot luck on how it would act.
I just got a Holly 650 double pumper and now she purrs...
One of the latest little projects was trying to get my power antenna to go down. I researched some antenna topics here on the forum and found out how to power the antenna manually. One of the previous owners cut the wires at the motor. After wiring the power to white and ground to green, the...
I use a product called mirrex, also found under the name speedy. It gets rid of the oxidation and shines up like chrome. Best part is, it goes on like wax and is easy to polish out. I also used it to polish out my waterneck and intake. Put a drop or two into a pad of super fine (0000) steel wool...
1981 350 with edelbrock performer intake manifold.
There are three vacuum hoses (vent lines maybe?) mounted to a three way fitting. This fitting is in the rear of the manifold behind the carb. The way they are routed makes the hoses cross over each other and im trying to clean up the look...
My son and I have been trying to fix up my 81 since I got it in July. New seats, cleaning up old wireing, coolant leaks, brake calipers etc. etc. Still have to deal with door panels and a few small odds and ends but Im proud to say that my car finally earned a trophy at a local cruise in this...
Ive got one that is stuck in the up position and id like to get it to go down. I dont use the radio at all, only the cd player. Anyone have any ideas on how to lower it manually and how to go about getting to it?

Does anyone know of a source for 1981 door panels that dont have the carpet and map pockets?
Also Im looking into either black armrests or maybe dieing the ones that are there already. How well does interior dye hold up to daily use?
Just for snicks.... if you had deep pockets and Chevy came out with a vette that looked like the first generation bodies (ala the new stang, camaro, t-birds) would you buy it?
Does the 81 assembly manual show diagrams for vacuum lines? Based on trial and error I finally got my headlight doors to open and close using the switch. They open and close one at a time, so id like to figure out how to correct that.
