    shut off valve

I agree, no water through the firewall is the way to go in these old cars. Use 2 cutoff valves, they are different sizes. Ask at Autozone, they have them.

79 jerks to right with brakes

My 76 pulled to the left when applying the brakes. Guess what? It wasn't the left side causing the problem, it was the right front side rubber hose about to blow out. Replaced both hoses and fixed the problem. Check your rubber brake hoses. Bet your left side has a bulge in it causing more...

    home made octane booster

Something doesn't sound right, you live in KC and can't find some 93 octane. Better watch what you trying to buy in a 5 gallon can now days or making home brew gas. The FEDs may come to visit you if you haven't blown yourself up first.

    Need Advice on 1976 Corvette

Can he prove it's 77K miles and not 177K miles? Did he buy it new? Probably not. No cracks in my bumpers. $5000 wouldn't be bad if:... Most people like this will ask $6900 and when you offer $5500 he will come down some but this means you will have to go up some to buy it. If you can't...

    Numbers matching engine or not?

Matching Numbers :beer I agree, matching numbers don't mean much to me since it's not a show car. Also I doubt if you ever sell it anyone would want the original engine. What if you have to move and sell your house, lots of junk to move or dispose of.

    What's it Worth?

I bought this 76 L48 4 speed last year for $7600. It came with new tires and had just had $3k of work at the Chevy place on a-frame bushings, new oil pan fix leaks, and more. Got new ac compressor to install, new hoses, and more with it. Has 168k miles on it but has had an engine rebuilt a while...

Got my head in my rear end...

Seems like I remember reading somewhere about making so many left and right turns after replacing the differential lub to lubricate the positrac but I don't know where I saw it. I changed mine but I didn't have any noise. Just OLD STINKING grease in it. Boy did it stink. Changed my 4 speed...
