Looks like ZR-1 prices might be dropping . . .

Yeah, I thought so too. It was sitting on a Mercedes dealers lot for 3 months. I called and made a rediculous offer. They called back at 4:30 pm and said "be her by 7pm and you can have it." Naturally I jumped. THey paid $30,000 for it on trade-in. I guess when you sell mercedes, you can take a...

Looks like ZR-1 prices might be dropping . . .

I bought my 1994 #54, Red Metallic/Black Interior, like new, 16,500 miles in August of 2004 for $26,500 from a dealer in San Jose CA. ZR-1's just are not getting the prices they deserve.

    Ok, a couple more questions

The last 4 numbers of the VIN tell you where your car occured in the production run. For example, my 1994 ZR-1 ends in "0054" meaning it was the 54th produced that year.

    Ages of c4 owners?

    38. Bought my 1994 ZR-1 because I always wanted one. They finally depreciated to the point where I could afford it.

    Help! 2004 Coupe or 2002 Z06?

Why choose? Buy both! (I can say that since it's not my money)

    90 ZR1 vs. 93 ZR1

Interesting thread.. Hib, why the '82 collectors edition? Seems out of place with the rest. For me, the "investment factor" is just part of the thrill and mystique. I enjoy my '94 for all of the reasons mentioned by others, but I really think it'll be worth something on 20 years, and that's...

    90 ZR1 vs. 93 ZR1

Hib, Just curious and asking for your opinion... From 1975 on, what are your top five most collectable cars? Mark

    90 ZR1 vs. 93 ZR1

I agree with Hib that the ZR-1s will continue to decline for a number of years, though I'd estimate that they'd bottom out about 5-6 years from now, right around the 20 year mark. I've been following prices for about 10 years now, and the ZR-1 prices suffered greatly about the time the C6 was...

    ZF Six Speed Problem

It is? Try taking 75W90 gear oil and 15w40 motor oil and pour them out next to each other, see if they flow the same.

    ZF Six Speed Problem

Yes it does. Here's a quote from the ZF doctors web page about GM ZF-6 transmission fluid: http://www.zfdoc.com/techinfo.htm "TRANSMISSION OIL (status) *-* Vascular flow of oil through the porous Phosphorus-bronze (Pb)*material of each synchronizer is essential for effective British Thermal...

    ZF Six Speed Problem

My owners manual calls for 5W 30 weight oil in the ZF-6 transmission on my 1994 ZR-1. 75W 90 sounds like the wrong fluid.

1994 ZR-1 for sale in the Bay Area (CA)

Came across this ad on craigslist, thought it sounded like it had possibilities for the interested party http://www.craigslist.org/eby/car/51715555.html I'm about 20 miles away and can view it if needed.

    does a bbc 454 or 572 fit in a zr1 ?

Why not sell the ZR-1, buy a similar LT-1 corvette and take the cash and put it toward the new motor? Seems like a waste to start heavily modifying the Z when you'd probably be decreasing its value in the long run.

    A 1954 "Vette" on ebay...

Ugh. Reminds me of when they put curb feelers on the Porsche in Tom Hanks "Bachelor Party."

    C6-Front Plate mandatory in California?

Turbo While what you say is possible, I can't recall ever seeing a C4 out here with a front plate. Could be a coincidence (or a conspiracy). Seems odd that they would have a provision for cars with only one plate in the DMV code if all cars were issued with 2 plates "back to at least the...
