Wow! Somewhat more than I'm looking to spend (looking for '91 or '92) but a great deal for sure.

Tough to go by Ebay sometimes on prices. You never really know what your getting into sometimes.

I think 94 & 95 ZR-1 bring the most per the interior upgrades that came with those years. I believe in 93 the HP was bumped up to 405.

I purchased my C5 off of e-bay. I called Edmond and ask him to go and check it out for me prior to the purchase. That is 1 of the things members on CAC do for each other.

Later . . . . . .

I saw this 1991 at an auction in Palm Springs on Sunday... NICE CAR! I think it had a reserve of $28,500 which it didn't reach. Call these guys, the have an after auction negotiator (I'm thinking $24,000 or more would be a good price) This car looked brand new and the mileage is low, low, low.

I bought my 1994 #54, Red Metallic/Black Interior, like new, 16,500 miles in August of 2004 for $26,500 from a dealer in San Jose CA. ZR-1's just are not getting the prices they deserve.

ie karumba!!!!!

That is the best ZR-1 purchase price I’ve ever heard of! I see a ’94 with that kind of mileage and price... I’m signing on the dotted line.

Yeah, I thought so too. It was sitting on a Mercedes dealers lot for 3 months. I called and made a rediculous offer. They called back at 4:30 pm and said "be her by 7pm and you can have it." Naturally I jumped. THey paid $30,000 for it on trade-in.

I guess when you sell mercedes, you can take a loss like that.

That gives me an idea about what to keep an eye out for price wise.

Not only did you get a incredible deal, but Dark Red Metallic (of which 19 were produced in ’94) is a really nice color.

I'm the guy who bought this car, My first ZR-1 (and my first posting to this list!) I waited until 2 hrs before the end of the auction and then offered $24,000. The bidding on the block had reached $23,000 against the reserve of $28,500. I figured that by waiting the owner would be happy not to have to take it home. After the payoff, the auction company gave the the previous owner's name and phone #. I called him and he said such nice things about the car that I feel pretty good about the purchase. At an auction you don't really get too good an idea about what you're getting. You can see it run and drive over the auction block, but you can't drive it, honk the horn, etc. Overall condition is about the only indicator you have as to what's under the hood.

I'm sure I'll have some questions for the list once I get it home and drive it some. Since I'm in Fairbanks, it will probably be the farthest north ZR-1 in North America.

the prices you see on ebay are people just dumping the cars if you stick to your asking price youll get it.

Someone just sold a 91 on the corvette forum for $25,000

On the surface that looked like a heck of a nice car, I doubt you got stuck on that one it was a prime car. Whoever owned the car babied it, it looked like it was fresh out of the box. If you haven't shipped it to fairbanks yet send me a PM I'll set you up with a tech down here that can give it a once over before you take into snowmans land. I can't imagine there is a good ZR1 guy in Fairbanks (I've been there)...

So my guess of $24,000 was a good one... If I wanted another ZR1 I would've jumped on that car. If you walked the show next door you might have seen my Yellow '69 in the show. (I don't show my car it's a driver, it was just good parking and included 4 passes to the auction for $25)

Thanks for your offer. The car is still in Palm Springs and I would love to have the name of a specialist to look it over. I tried to send you a PM, but the message I got back said you had "chosen not to receive private messages."

I will not say what I paid for my 91 (sometimes the wife looks at my post here:W) but that car was a great deal for 24K. I keep telling myself that the headers, blueprinted LT5 and the fact that the Z was on this side of the ocean increased the value…. And since I bought it I refuse to look at the prices on eBay.:crazy

Did you ever see it in person?

Its still a 91 and the general consensous isthat 90-91's are not worth anything because they were the most built

He just had a bunch of work done to the motor so If its all about what the motor looks like that sells the car then so be it.

anyone can take car of the car the thing is alot of people are just selling them to get out from underneath them

The ZR1 is alot of car for that money so If you have the means I highly sugest getting one.

ZR1 prices have been flucuating alot the last few years and the good deals out there have been few and far I think any 405 car should be $30,000 at least

everone is scared of the engine Im more scared of working on transmission hahaha
