    Question: Squeaky sepentine belt

noisy belt I have had good luck in the past in different vehicles by changing the belt to a gator style belt that is cross hatched rather than ribbed. I think that Goodyear makes the gator belt. Give that a try.

    proper tires for a 74

I am going to replace my p245 60r 15 coopers with a more stock size tire that is as close to a G70r 15 as possible. The rims are a stock 8 inch ralley rim. The tires now have spacers and I would like to eliminate them and the scraping problems on tight turns. Thanks.

Question: Chirp and it's not a bird.

chirp Before you go through the work and expense of changing out the tensioner, replace the belt with a Goodyear Gator belt which has a cross hatch design rather than a ribbed style that you might have now. I have found a number of times that this will eliminate the chirp.

    Making engine bay "correct"

Engine compartment Looks great! I wish my 74 engine looked half that good.

    gas prices

Fuel Out here in the hinterlands we have a choice most often of 89 oct. regular and 91 oct. 10% ethenol blend. We can also get 90 oct. BP blend if you don't want to run the ethenol blend through the older cars. By the way the price here is $3.62 a gal. for ethenol blend.

With Viper splitting from Dodge, should Corvette have separated from Chevy?

Chevrolet Corvette Let us be honest here. How many vipers have you seen on the road. Now ask , how many corvettes do you see on the road in a given week. If the only true American sports car was to go it alone we would be witnesses to a slow painful death of a true icon. Remember, hot dogs...

    Help! Hood Release Problem Still!

The restoration purists out there would probably not agree but when you finally do get the hood open use a three quarter inch hole saw just in back of the hood release latches on both sides of that upper cowling area and buy a couple of round plastic blank covers to fit those holes then if...

    Question: C4 Front bumper help

If you plan on showing the car sometime take the panel with you and slide it back into place over the plate. It should be tight enough to hold it in place and makes the car look nice. Just remember to remove it before you drive home.

News: Putting the vette away for the winter... :(

I agree with G Winter there are usually many nice days left in November and not as many bugs left to make a mess on the windshield and front of the cars.

    54 Corvette electircal question

Do you have another 6 volt battery handy? I did that once and found that I must have ruined the battery. I tryed another battery and everything seemed to work ok. You may want to check out your voltage regulator when you get things running and see if it is working properly. Good luck.

I agree that if you are going to store the car for 2 months, a charger/maintainer is a good investment. There is a constant small drain on a modern car battery and this will not only take care of that but it also helps you get the most out of a battery. There is nothing harder on any kind of...

What tires are you running and why?

Last week I had new Kumho ECSTA SPT tires installed on my 95. It still had the original GY OEM tires with 23,000 miles. What a difference in the ride, handling and road noise. So far I am happy with them. I put the same sizes on as the old tires. I priced the Michelin and the Goodyears. The way I...

Lots of folks out there bashing the C4...what gives?

Just got back from blowing a few cobwebs out of the 74. I like driving both the 74 and the 95 but if I want to take out a little agression I still like to drive the 74 the best plus I can go through the gears and listen to it growl a little. The 95 is still the better of the two for longer trips...

    Targa Top Question

Targa Top I have to agree with Clive.I have had the top off a number of times since I bought the 95. I haven't noticed a problem when cruising around at highway speeds. I guess I would have to ask are these guys driving with top off in road races or hard driving situations?

What year corvette do you enjoy the most?

My favorite series of corvette To be honest I like all of the years. I Like the C3 because they first came out when I was in High School and like many things you always wanted something that you knew at the time you would never have. I also thought the C3 series had a menacing look about them...
