    Rag joint experts needed

I’m trying to replace my rag joint and just getting parts has been a journey. I think what was installed was not correct. I bought a Lares 202 rag joint for a 65 non-tele. The length of the flange that came off and the new one are different on the steering box side. I’m going to install...

1965 front cross over brake line

FWIW that seems to the correct route. Had to do some custom bending but it seems to have all gone back together Ok. Radiator, fan, water pump hose all had to come you for easier access.

1965 front cross over brake line

Hello - purchased a front crossover brake line that is supposed to be bent to factory spec. However, I for the life of me can’t see how this will fit. My aim manual is very unclear as to routing and what I pulled out is prob not factory. Anyone have pictures or the proper route? FYI -...

Help! Power steering conversion - power steering pump

Tom - quick update: you are THE MAN!!! I replaced the motor mounts and now have the clearance for the power steering pump. In addition, the driver side mount was cracked so I got a twofer on that fix! I ordered the mounts for zip corvettes and got the "correct" ones. It seems much flimsier...

    Help! Engine mount frame bolt

Ok, I researched a bit more and found the motor mount bolts should be torqued to 30 and the through bolt to about 35. Good to go!

    Help! Engine mount frame bolt

Hi folks - changing out my motor mounts. The new mounts are not as wide as the ones I removed. Does anyone have the bolt size for the motor mount to frame bolt? First time I've done these and I've already got the driver side out and the new one in. However, I need to get the proper bolt as...

Help! Power steering conversion - power steering pump

Thanks Tom - will take your advice and re-check motor mounts. It's darn close and just barely rubs. You are right also that my search for a smaller pulley has been in vain thus far. I did find one 4.6 inch diameter but that is way to small. There was another thread in my searches that...

Help! Power steering conversion - power steering pump

Attached is a picture. There is no clearance to adjust or put on a power steering belt. I'm thinking a smaller pully but that would change the speed at which the pump spins. I think I need about 1/2 inch would do it. Thoughts?

Help! Power steering conversion - power steering pump

Hi folks - not sure if anyone here has done a power steering conversion with a kit....but I did buy a kit and low and behold the power steering pump doesn't clear the frame with the pulley on. The pulley hits the frame and I can't possibly line up the bolts. This isn't an original engine - it...

    Ball joint dust boot covers

Thanks John - the ball joints (upper and lower) are marked as correct parts. I was able to do it with a little wd40 and prying it down slowly. Now that its off, I see its just "pressed" on. I reinstalled the boot with a large socket. I will still call them but I have gotten it back...

    Ball joint dust boot covers

Hello - I am in the process of rebuilding the front end on my '65. I bought a nice kit from zip. However, the ball joints in the upper arms already have to boot covers installed. The boot cover does not fit thought the arm and therefore has to be removed and re-installed once in place...

    Control arms

No, not even installed. The shaft slips into the pressed bushings- it doesn't move like the others. Ended up Calling ecklers and they are swapping it out. However, now I've lost the weekend and holiday week next week to get it back together. frustrated.... i did thread a bolt into the and...

    Control arms

Hello - ordered a new set of upper control arms. On one arm I cannot turn the shaft by hand -I can move it if I put a screw driver in the mounting holes but its tough. The other moves freely - I'm guessing its not straight, which is why I'm replacing them to begin with. Should it move freely...

Thanks! I'll have them out this weekend and will check the codes. Not a big deal but surprised they could last that long!
