I've followed a plenty of them when the old xfire site was still up and am familiar with DCS. Friend had the Renegade and was pushing the car to a new height at 250+ km/h on the Autobahn before he left the foot off. He did however mod the brakes...

Not a wrencher here either, but did you try and pull the codes on the CEL? Maybe that could give you something to go after? If you have it, let us know we can then decipher it for you if you dont have a Service Manual.

Sorry not too sure what this could be, something to do with it heating it up and blocking the fuel..
Did you take off the air filter box and see the fuel spray in the injectors? That would be my first thought to check to make sure you get a nice cone of fuel...
