    F/S 2004 VERT, 4,700 MILES

I may be naive but 4,700 miles on a two year from initial service is not much IMO. As far as insurance companies are concerned it is a three year old car which makes the 4,700 sound even better. What am I missing? Thanks.

    MPG

A couple of weeks ago I did a 250 mile trip from Miami Beach to New Smyrna Beach. I purposely kept the speed limit at 65 mph to see what would be my mpg. Well I averaged 33.1 mpg on the 250 mile trip each way on my 04 convertible. Is this what you guys get? I realize Florida is flat as a pancake...

    Soundproofing Mod

I can see where this kit would be great for most vettes. However having a convertible I wonder how much good it would do. Has anyone here done the sound insulation on a ragtop? Thanks.

    200'000 miles with a C5 ?

I thought having 13,050 miles on my 04 was a lot! Wrong it seems.

    Road noise

I have it on my 04 convertible and it helps. A side benefit is that I have less space to cool down and that helps in the hot South Florida summer.

    Run Flat Tires

There is another post with the Kumho run flats for Vettes. They seem like a very good alternative to the goodyears. Cheaper too.

    C5 - Kumho Tires

Quiet?, this is good to hear (pun intended). I have the original tires and man are they noisy. Thanks.

    Dex-Cool

I am glad I read your post. I have a 2004 Vette with 12,500 miles. Tomorrow (7/11/06) it goes to the dealer to have the coolant system flushed and the coolant replaced. Since I hardly drive the car and it has been 2 years since its initial delivery I figure go ahead and do it while they are...

How often do you change your brake fluid

The vette uses DOT 3 type brake fluid. It absorbs moisture, that moisture will cause corrosion in your brake parts. That is why I change the brake fluid in all my cars every two years. I was wondering what you guys did. Thanks.

How often do you change your brake fluid

LLC5 would you mind expanding on your response? When you say all fluids at 2 years or 30,000 miles do you mean: -Brake fluid -Clutch fluid -Coolant -Gear lube for the 6 speed manual tranny -Rear end lube Coming from other vehicles I can see the brake and clutch fluid since both use a DOT 3...

How often do you change your brake fluid

My 2004 C5 convertible was driven out of the showroom in July 2004. Although it only has 12,500 miles it has reached the period by which most mechanics recommend changing the brake fluid since it absorbs water. I checked my owners manual and did a search here. However I could not find any...

Great to feel so welcome guys, thanks. By the way a couple of things about my self and please do not shoot because of the last one. 1. I am definetly a geek/nerd (engineer so you should figure it out) 2. Other hobbies are Jazz Guitar (I suck at it), photography, and stereos/music 3. I am into...

    Just another Newbie

    Just another Newbie

Hi there, my name is Miguel and I have been visiting this site since January 2005 but just joined. I find the people here very knowledgeable and passionage about their Vettes. Which is as it should be because they are great cars. I have owned a 2004 Torch Red Convertible since 2/1/05 and it is...
