I had the same problem once and it turned out to be the wires. Sometimes the new wires aren't what they are supposed to be, or there is one not on the plug well, but I figure you have already checked that.

I agree, or try your spare key. If you don't have a spare, see about getting another one made before you mess with changing out the lock.:w

Texas does require both plates;shrug but I have never had one on the front either:thumb I think it depends on what area you are in as to how much it is enforced:)
