1987 Ignition Installation

I believe that I have an ignition problem, not letting the engine to start after it is turning over, then shaking the key in the ignition it will start. I need instructions on installing a new ignition in my 1987 Vette.;help

VATS problem ; the ECM is not reading the resistor in the key.
Try cleaning the contacts on the key first before replacing lock.

I agree, or try your spare key. If you don't have a spare, see about getting another one made before you mess with changing out the lock.

Thank you for that information I hate to replace the lock assembly. I also am a Charter member of Corvette Annoymous I will tell Tom that you have responded to my thread.
