I've double checked mine and, as stated earlier, it's definitely WELDED into the line and looks a little different than the one shown above. Mine has a standard six sided hex fitting and the bead comes up around/over the hex sides. Lefty loosey on a welding fitting? I wouldn't exactly call that...
Have you verified that the torque converter is not locking up? I ask because sometimes people assume it's not going into 4th when it is in 4th but not locking up. When it locks, it's like an upshift.
Thanks for the responses - I was curious if the oe tube w/ fitting might be available - good to know!
The orifice tube is a good suggestion - I've heard this is one to always service when cracking things open.
On the 'special tool' - I assume this is just a longer version of the shrader tool...
1996 A/C High Pressure Service Port/Valve - How to Service?
I have a 1996 Corvette (P-Code LT1) with the original R134a system. A/C recently stopped working due to low refrigerant pressure. I've since traced the leak to the high side service port where there was a lot of oil residue.
Inside...
I've got two lots of 36 magazines of mostly Vette with some Corvette Fever issues - I'm asking $32 for each lot that INCLUDES shipping (US Only). These magazines are from the 90s with lots of of C4 tech articles, plenty of C3 stuff and some early C5 articles.
Lot #1 36 magazines - $32...
One last try:
Anybody have a copy of Corvette Magazine #6 July 2003 - can they post here or PM me?
(no I'm not going to ask you to sell it - just some questions before I spend money buying a copy)
thanks!
Thanks - yes I know they offer back issues but $10 for a question about 1 article seems steep. That's why I was hoping someone might still have the #6 issue. If so let me know.
It's a great magazine by the standards of 'single marque' periodicals. I think it's clearly better than the other...
I subscribe to this mag and have all the issues since the first one back in 2002. But, oops, it looks like something got lost - I am missing #6 July 2003 and #12 July 2004.
If someone out there still has their Corvette Magazine #6 July 2003 in particular, can they PM me? I just have a...
I've got two lots of 36 Magazines in each lot of mostly Vette with some Corvette Fever magazines - I'll sell each lot for $25 each. These magazines are from the 90s when C4s were still the latest/newest Corvette generation and heavily biased towards C4 tech articles, C4 reviews etc. Read...
Interesting. So after you remove the seats he comes to you and he restores them?
2 questions...
By coming to you location - is this to pick them up or does he do the work onsite - in the back of a truck or on the ground or whatever?
By restoring - does he somehow replace torn/worn panels or...
Initially loved it for it's design since first seeing one (C3) in early 70s.
This has been followed up by exceptional engineering since the C4.
It has a great historical heritage that continues as we post.
It's become a brand unto itself.
There are other very good sports cars out there...
