    Considering purchase of '90 ZR-1, have Q's...

That is something they should cover, Most dealerships have a reonditioning charge that is added to the vehicle to get it road worthy. Needs tires, battery, windshield wipers. Especially items that are of a safety nature. Rotors don't warp from sitting :D It could just be the tires, especially...

    Considering purchase of '90 ZR-1, have Q's...

Everything sounds ok there. The black rub strips are hard to find now, so make sure they are not damaged beyond repair The dealership is supposed to have the car in road worthy condition, may vary in Alabama. Figure about 1k for a decent set of tires. More than likely a vacuum hose has...

    Considering purchase of '90 ZR-1, have Q's...

00066 is a internal car, which apparently has been beat on. I'll respond to some of the other questions a bit later.

Do you just want "NOS" systems, or any NO2 set up?

    1990 Coupe-vss-vehicle Speed Sensor?

On a 6 speed it's the sensor at the very end of the housing. You access it from the drivers side. Auto, I have no clue.

    Brake Light Failure

Yes the regular brake lights and the CHMSL are operated off different switches. The odds of both failing at the same time are small. So two switches keeps you with at least 1 set of lights working.

    Why is Lingenfelter....

As much as you would like to believe that you get no nightmares from LPE, I know of several instances in the last couple of months of people having problems. One owner has given up at LPE and taken his car some place else.

18" wheels - which tyres to go for

You should be able to squeeze a 335/30/18 in the rear, the fronts their should be a 285/35/18. You might be looking at Michelin Pilot sports or Pirelli P Zeros for you as only options though. I think these are standard Viper sizes as well.

    Ride Control test

You need to acutally read the codes for the shock system. Jump ports A-C with a paper clip to access and watch the pulses on the DIC. When the car is powered on to the run position, the shocks test for each end stop of the shock. It doesn't matter if the knob has been turned inside the cabin...

    Why is Lingenfelter....

Quality, warranty, and the name. Helps on resale. Then again, their craftsmanship has gone downhill with John being gone.

    ZR-1 Top Speed

Not if it has the Cd of a mac truck. Aerodynamics play more of a roll with top end speed than anything else.

    ZR-1 Top Speed

Mass has a big part in acceleration but a very, very small part in top speed. Top speed depends largely on Power and Drag (and Gearing but here optimum gearing is assumed).

    ZR-1 Top Speed

Wow, what a ****ing match Curtis hit 201 during the ORR race in Texas. His mods: P&P on the plenum and injector housings, coilovers which lowered the car, and the absence of side mirrors. The Aerobody by Callaway does more than just the nose. It's a complete package that allows the air to...

    ZR-1 Top Speed

Take Hibs word as gospel.... especially on the Fluidyne being a drop in :eyerole Didn't take much for Curtis to make it to 200.

    painting brake calipers?????????

Forget painting and do the job right. Get the calipers cleaned and powder coated and replace all the seals. I've done about 5 sets of calipers and they last against the elements and track use.
