I bought a set of Al Knoch door panels and am surprise that the hole for the window winder is not cut out. Is this normal? Also, there is no indent there. Is that normal?
:wThanks Fred. I did end up buying one when I was in Florida. I just bought it from a local glass shop. I was surprised they had it in stock. But the price was right ($218). It's tinted and looks great. For folks who don't need a numbered windshield, it's a good way to keep a few extra shekels...
I am removing my door panel and am having trouble removing the door lock knob. Does it remove the same as the window winders, which I used the tool on to release the clip? If there is a clip, it is really difficult to slide the tool in to get at it. :confused
OOPS just found the answer in...
I was going to buy the new windshield at Eklers in Florida, but they don't have any in stock. I'm going to be driving up the the east coast from Florida back to Canada on Good Friday and thought I would pick one up enroute. Any other place I could check with? I don't really need a dated one.
Just looking for some advice on replacing my windshield. I will have it installed by a professional, but I am wondering what parts I should order to facilitate the installation (clips etc.). The outside metal is fine. I'm not showing the car, so I don'd need it to be perfect, I'm just thinking...
I just bought a new water pump for my 327 300hp. The one I am going to remove was painted a glossy black. This one came un-painted. Could someone please confirm what the stock color should be? Also, do I need to use gasket glue?
Thanks
Just to clarify... I'm not looking for the "stock"...
:eek First there was shock.
Followed by disbelief :confused
Then there was my gut reaction :puke
Next, anger (how could anyone due such a thing) :mad
I questioned - why oh why did this happen - what had the car done to deserve such a fate? :hb
Finally, there was acceptance when I realized it...
Frank,
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've got a great little project ahead of you. I'm kind of like you, a bit of a neophite when it comes to mechanics, but I sure love the car.
You've found a great spot for advice and help. There are folks here that will be able to answer any of your...
I felt your pain:mad but the repair looks fantastic. :D I've got to agree with you on the do-it-yourself repair kits. They are not worth the trouble. Better to go with a good pro.
Hickory dickory dock... thanks to Dave I have a clock :upthumbs
Dave,
It works like a charm. Your posting was super helpful! I would certainly encourage anyone who has a clock that is not working to give this a try. It was a real simple procedure.
There's just something about...
That's the same thing with mine. If I flick the time set dial it will run for a few minutes. Is there something one can look at, or is it like brain surgery (leave it to the experts)? :confused
Just a dumb question here. I've never paid any attention to my transmission. It's the stock manual 4 speed. The other day I was under the car looking up at it and wondering if I need to check the fluid in it.
It's the 300hp. and the manifold is orange. As per a previous thread (ignition shielding), I found out I had a manifold from a 68. I was a bit shocked :eek and thought that I should change it, but it is running so good, that I figure why mess with it, and at least it's the right color. Thanks. :w
