whats wrong with my air conditioner.?

I had a problem on my 1993 that was similar. One of the two fans quit working. When I was up and running the A/C was ice cold. But stop and go traffic it would stay cold for a bit then start going hotter as the engine did. there just wasn't enough air flow to support the engine and A/C...

    wheels/disconnecting air sensors ??

2001 or newer can be turned off with a Tech II tool. Older ones you have to hit reset every time you start the car. As far as the 'band' goes, that is how the C4 sensors were mounted. If you look at a C4 with sensors Vs. without sensors, the wheels look identical because the valve stems are...

    C5 Volts, what is normal?

Thanks Junk... I'll check it out tonight

    C5 Volts, what is normal?

Ok... where do I look? When this battery was changed about 5 years ago it took out about $3500 worth of stuff. You know the drill: computer, cables, etc.

    C5 Volts, what is normal?

Long story short, my Dad loaned me one of his Corvettes... 1998 Pace Car, well kept but hardly anything done to it (i.e mostly original) 68k miles. My wife drove it to work last week and it wouldn't start after work. I jumped it, and changed out the 5 year old AC Delco battery for a new...

    c-5 oils

Generally: Not a whole lot happens in one oil change. Synthetics have control over particle size and have better additive packages. That leads to better flow, better protection, and less heat. If you took two identical engines and ran off brand X in one and a high quality Synthetic in...

What is tinted targa top made out of?

The best thing I found to keep the top 'like new' is Zymol. the real stuff, not the fake crap from wal mart. When I ran my clear top I applied it at least once per month. You can use "detail", which is a very small container or you can use one of the paint products, like "creame" or "carbon"...

    c-5 oils

Actually, factory fill M1 started back in 1992 with the introduction of the LT1. I tore my 1993 LT1 partially down after 80,000 miles and the inside of the engine looked brand new. We did a L98 car at the same time, that didn't use M1, and it looked like an old man's lung in there after...

    LT4 Breaks upgrade

I have put drilled / slotted rotors on a few cars now. The combination of them + better pads is much better than factory. Also, a MAJOR maintenance item that no one does is brake fluid. It should be done every 2 years, even more if you live in high humidity area. If you do the fluid, drilled...

    Dual Air conditioner controls

I know this is an old thread, but I am having the same issue on my Dad's 1998. Is this common? I did a search but this thread is really all I found. I'm getting ready to take the head unit out to re-solder the display anyway, so if there is something I can do while in there it would be great...

    Hood rubber bumper thingies

I've looked all over online and at dealers. They make the larger ones still, for the rear and a couple other places on the car... I think the trunk lid for example. The small ones though, on the very front, are impossible to find. I don't have salvage yards anywhere near me that would have...

    Hood rubber bumper thingies

Thanks 6... been a while since I've been on here, nice to see old online friends :) I still can't find a set of these things... it's like trying to find a leprechaun.

    Question: Universal Oil Catch Can?

I disagree with this. An engine can run really well for a long time with some blow-by. If it is just a fun driver car I'd patch it and run it. It will probably last years on end the way it is.

    Hood rubber bumper thingies

He's not hard on them at all. he's got a pair of Corvettes that are always garaged and clean. He doesn't drive them hard either.... The rest of the rubber on the car is perfect including the rear bumper stops and the weatherstripping, etc. These two little ones for some reason are the only...

    Question: wheels/wits end

In my opinion, you are doing something wrong... What do you clean the wheels with normally? Never use any of the spray cleaners on a clear coated wheel. they all have acid and will nuke the clear coat. Now that the clear is screwed up, for whatever reason, I'd do a couple of things...

    Question: Universal Oil Catch Can?

it will blow by one then go back through the system to coat the intake and everything else. The better catch cans have screens in them, usually made from stainless, that actually do the catching of the oil. The cheap ones are hollow. I'd get a good one. They do help. The 'best' ones are...

    C-4 Blackouts

I had them on the front of my '96. I like them there on the '91-'96 body style. I was always afraid of doing the rear. I figured if I got rear-ended the person that hit me could use the dim tail lights as an excuse.... So, I left them alone.

    Question: Universal Oil Catch Can?

there is a reason why it is cheap. And that one is excessively cheap
