No $26.00 paint job here. A buddy of my painted both the 74 vert and the 81. That's all he's done all his life . Does some real nice work. Not sure what happened to get the quarter size bubble, but he said he would fix her up (no charge ). He charges me a real fair price and tear's the car apart...

If i remember correctly, i had to change the main vacuum line from ( i think on the engine side of the firewall ) to the switch. Bud is 100% correct on the switch. I also took mine apart and it was a real pain. Dave :w

Did you try to follow the black vacuum hose with the BLUE stripe ?? That should lead to the right spot. Dave :beer

Take off the console side panel . Look at the back of the heater / a/c control panel . That is where you will see the color coded vacuum hoses. Dave:w

Shaggyvette, Works great. Bought the 5/8 heater hose today, sliced and installed. Cheap and easy solution. Thnx Dave :upthumbs

Check the vacuum hose on the #3 or any of the hose's.It should be the black hose with BLUE stripe. I had the same problem , and it was a leaking vacuum hose that controls the door for the defroster. Just a thought. Dave :w
