Valid points. Especially the float adjustment :bash
Who thought of that ? Its a guess at best.
Also, if you buy an Edlebrock, may as well buy the whole adjustment kit as you mentioned. To get it right does require a LOT of rod changes sometimes, especially with a big cam and intake.
I'm...
I tune Edelbrock carbs all the time. With the proper jets and rods, its a smooth carb and can be tuned really well. I'm not sure where the "not as tuneable as a Holley" came into play. I suppose that depends on which Holley carb it is. Some only have metering blocks on the back two venturi tubes...
I would keep the '82. If I wanted a C4 I would get an L98, or an LT1.
That is a good price for that car, but it's not going to smoke the tires like a good L98 does.
YES its that important. If its a 'vette and won't even spin a tire, it's like
dating a supermodel that makes you sleep on the...
My only problem with the fuel pressure theory is that it has 41 psi at idle and still skips. Never mind the running portion.
When at idle the the psi is constant, tells me the FPR is doing its thing, at idle anyway.
I think 41 psi at idle is enough to keep that thing running smooth. My 1995...
Tom94,
I have been watching this thread a while and see you have tried everything else. So here's my theory.
I think from what your describing you have a vacuum leak. Internal or external. It sounds like your getting air into the intake from an outside source.
If you give it a quick but...
I've done it.
No its not professional,
no its not the right stuff. However it does thin down with Acetone, so its not water based.
I'm not real sure I would do it on my 'vette though :W.
Maybe on the Mustang or the Taurus. Definately on the Corolla or the Civic ;)
Otherwise, I would...
RPO codes are in the console for a coupe I think, and in the rear storage area for a roadster.
check for Z51, Z52 (suspension) also J55 brakes and other options.
Look in the model center on this site for a list of most of the codes.
use this thread as well...
Yeah but if there is a place to smash my knuckles .. I'll do it. Heck, I broke my toe on the floor jack just walking across the room. :boogie
Yeah, my buddies loved that one.
Jack the car up and spin the wheel. If its out of round you can see it.
If a belt has shifted you can usually see that as well.
Run your hands around the tire during the spin and feel for buldges or something that just doesn't feel right.
One last item, Check torque on all the lug nuts...
The cracks in the footwell are common. It's usually from somebody trying to lift the car wrong. It's repairable but you must remove the carpeting first. Your looking at 3 or 4 hours of driveway time, IF its bad enough to worry about. It's not really a structural issue.
also, $11,900 isnt bad...
wow, thats a pretty tight car already ! I have ran the heads you spoke of on an earlier 350 in a 1969 RS\SS Camaro with a similar Crane cam and intake ( Edelbrock dual plane intake and carb) with 3:73 gears.
The car lost low end throttle response after the head install, but picked up power...
Tuna, you keep throwing logic at this ! :D
However, you do have a point.
LT4 man I like the magnaflow sound on the website. Thanks. I'm going to try and hear it live.
1k is a lot of money to fork over for something you may not like.
and to think, I used to have a sticker on the rear...
I received my package today from these guys. All I can say is wow !
It's right :thumb
It looks good.:thumb:thumb
I spent 30 bucks and got paint and sand paper that was perfect for what I needed. I painted 3 spots the size of a big fingernail.
Primer,Primer, Primer-> sand -> basecoat...
Your idea of noisy and mine are two different things :D
20 years ago I wouldn't have said that :)
However that exhaust would attract people I really don't want to talk to. :ohnoes
What about the same setup with a decent set of silencing tips on it ?
