Why the stick shift's days may be numbered

Having bad knee's, I have automatics in all my vehicles. Just don't enjoy shifting any more. That said, I'm going to be breaking in a supercharged MGB rebuild job for a friend before he has it shipped back to Colorado. I'll post pictures when I get the car.

Difference between blend door, actuator, and HVAC programmer

When my 89 did that, it was the vacuum actuator. It failed and none of the vent doors for the floor or dash would open. Couldn't find anyone that would fix/rebuild it so my favorite Corvette mechanic found a NOS part. PITA to get to but that fixed it. Where in Colorado are you? Rik at the...

The Corvette Action Center Suffers a Loss

My introduction to Bud? The "secret handshake"..... It is an honor to have been his friend. His stories at CruiseFest are cherished memories and the time we spent with him and Nanc down in Amarillo will never be forgotten. Bud, I'll do my best to pass the "handshake" on to any and all CAC...

    40th Anniversary mustang sound!

When I changed my exhaust, the front Y pipe was changed to an "off road use only" no pre cat type, the catalytic converter was replaced with a performance cat and the big a$$ mufflers were replaced with the KBD's. Not a lot of performance difference but it sure sounded better.

    40th Anniversary mustang sound!

I used these from KBD on my 89 C4 and they sounded a heck of a lot better than a Mustang..... And, this is what they sound like. (not mine but just like it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQtqcGQPFPo

    1986 Corvette Engine woes!

In 2008, I started having some issues with my 89. Being somewhat mechanically challenged, I had the motor pulled and sent to Jasper to be remanufactured. 50,000 miles later, still running great. And, numbers still match. I'd fix yours, don't replace it.

    C4 dash electrical problems??

Far be it from me to give advice on motors, you need advice from someone that knows motors. Hopefully Hib will see this as he's wealth of information. You might ask C4C5, too. There's a lot of people out here with lots of knowledge. I'm just not one of them. You might consider moving this post...

    C4 dash electrical problems??

Even if (and when) you do have issues with the dash, just GOOGLE Corvette C4 Dash Repair. Lots of sources for repair/rebuild/fix it yourself out there. My 89 with 145,000 miles on it still runs 60 psi oil pressure at 70 mph, what kind of pressure is your needle indicating? And, as a side note...

    2004 Corvette c5

St Louis? Second home of the Corvette assembly line. Some might say the first real assembly plant as Flint only made around 300 cars and production was moved to St Louis in 1954. You'll find a lot of really nice people on the forum ,,,,, and a few curmudgeons, too. But, such is life. Enjoy...

    Question: tires

And while I'm thinking of it, one of my friends really likes the Kumho tires on his Vette. Also a reasonably priced tire. Have you been on the Tire Rack site to look at options/reviews of tires for your Vette? Scott
