You appear to be new to the site, did you introduce yourself in the new member area? Welcome to the CAC. After you've been here for a while, you will understand our brand of humor and that insulting people is not nice. That said, it is amazing to me how many people do not read their manuals and...

Question: 2001 Covertible Top tries to blow off at 90+

My top is all hydraulic. The latching is part of the process. I finally put my toy away for the winter, it doesn't like ice/snow at all. Insurance is in winter mode so no high speed runs for a while for me. Oh well, Spring will arrive in a few months...

Question: 2001 Covertible Top tries to blow off at 90+

Bet that woke you right up..... In 12 years and over 150,000 miles, can't say that it was ever an issue for me. Not sure what the latches on a C5 look like but it was easy to see in my C4 if they weren't locked and secure. Had to double check the wife's side as with her arthritis, she sometimes...

    Believe it or Not................................................

Three main reasons for my suspenders. 1: I like them. 2: Half the time when the wife is with me, she doesn't take her purse so she loads up my pockets with "just a few things she needs". 3: By the time I have her 4 lbs of "stuff" (love cargo pants, too), my cell phone, Leatherman and IWB...

    The feat of middle age

My current vehicle helped alot, too. 8 hour drives are a breeze. Very quiet inside, I can climb in and out easily and lots of trunk space. I can even carry all the "extras" the wife has to have on road trips. My only complaints are premium gas only and the Brits put a limiter on it. Darn thing...

    The feat of middle age

I understand that only too well... That's one of the reasons my 89 went bye bye and I switched to a sport/touring car that old farts with bad knees could climb in and out of.

    Weird noise under passenger dash

I had a friend with a similar problem and when he pulled his fan, he found a mouse nest inside (he parked his over the winter months). Hope it is something simple like that but,,,, when mine did that, turned out to be the fan motor, bearing went bad. It would quiet down a bit on high speed but...
