Radar Detectors Help Prevent Speeding Tickets

Ahhhhh, radar. Back in the day I could make my Speedgun 8 read whatever I wanted it to.....never had to resort to doing that because speeders were just too easy to catch. That said, and not knowing what the requirements are today, 35 years ago, we had to train with a certified radar instructor...

    Question: Overheated shifter console

Sounds just like when the pre cats in my front y pipe plugged up. Not sure if a 93 has the same pre cat setup, but an "off road" y pipe from Mid America fixed my issue.

    Does Anyone Use STP?

If you're not a fan of specialty racing oils (i.e. Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil HR-2 10W-30), you might look in to Valvoline VR 1. 1200 ppm zinc for your flat tappet engine. http://content.valvoline.com/pdf/vr1_racing.pdf

    Does Anyone Use STP?

Personal opinion only, the can of voodoo black magic you're adding to the oil might be fine for an old, worn out engine that someone is trying to get a little more life out of, but,,, too many stories of issues arising out of using it in modern engines. If it was my motor, I'd use racing oil...

Question: Car doors not unlocking fully on keyless remote unlock

Okay, now I'm confused. In reading the issues encountered after the work performed on your steering column, the question comes to mind.... Is your power door lock system factory or was this an aftermarket add-on, too? And, have you encountered any other electrical issues after the battery was...

Question: Car doors not unlocking fully on keyless remote unlock

You can check for other issues while it's open, too. Make sure the electrical connectors are well seated and not corroded. How are your inner and outer door to window seals? Mine were pretty shot so I replaced them while the panels were off. If you do replace them, spend the money for a good...

Question: Car doors not unlocking fully on keyless remote unlock

My 89 started doing the same thing on the passenger side. Pulled the panel off, cleaned all the moving parts, lightly lubed them up with a silicone spray and never had another issue with them.

Question: 1992 C4 Factory Wheels Clear Coated yes or no?

Don't know on your 92 but my 89 rims are clear coated. I had good luck following this type of process: How To Clean and Polish Clear Coated Wheels Or, just Google how to clean clear coat aluminum rims.

    Question: Battery tender option

This same question popped up a year ago on two other Corvette forums (that shall remain nameless) and the general consensus was to just close the hatch. Just Google C7 battery tender cable routing. They say it doesn't seem to bother the cord or the rear seal, even with long term storage. I do...

Help! 1990 corvette runs terrible, slow as 1960 vw, mayhbe not quite.

When you check the cats, don't forget that our C4's have pre cats in the front Y pipe. Those are what plugged on mine. I got rid of that Y pipe, went with a pipe without pre cats and to keep the fine people in the Colorado emissions program happy, I went with a high flow main cat.

    Help! Tire ratings

Or this might help. Tire Tech Information - Sidewall Markings If you know what tire was on your Vette when it was sold, you can translate it using all in info supplied in the above posts. I still don't know what suspension you have but, According to Tire Rack, your OEM size tires are Front...

    NCRS Indiana Regional At Auburn

Works now, thanks. That's a lot of time, effort and love for vehicles on that floor. I need to win the lotto so I can have one like the gray Vette, second in from the start.
