Last time I checked, been a couple years, radar detectors are legal in all 50 states. Minnesota has something about things blocking your view which a radar detector attached to the window would do. I remember doing a search on the web and found a couple informative sites (I don't remember what...
I drive mine everyday, but then that's all I own (2 'vettes). Glad I live in a nice climate. :J
Today we're having a "winter" blast of cold air coming through. It's a chilly :eyerole 56 F right now this morning. :dance
I drive the red one most often, due to carrying capacity.

Ah, you misunderstand me. The area around my store may not be kind to my convertible top, not the Tower Shops parking lot area.
It isn't too bad around the store and no incidents have happened besides the usual teen vs teen stuff, but I do worry a little in the late nights that I'm sometimes...
I haven't been to the Tower Shops' cruise night for awhile. I'm usually busy gaming at my game store just down the road on 441 & 51st (Dragon's Lair Games). Which explains the "stuff" I'm usually hauling around: boxes and other containers of games and game-related materials. Besides, the area...
We went from "winter" to summer. February set record lows, March set record highs. I figured I'd get to drive my GS quite a bit in March, but it got way to hot for me too soon. Besides, I can carry more in the C5 (and have easier access to stuff).
Some people can stand the sun better than...
I was making a joke in a science fiction role-playing game forum about alien birdmen placing pictures of red cars (like my new 'vette) underneath them when constipated.
This last week I've wiped off more bird**** from my new red 'vette than I had in a year of my former green 'vette. :r
So...
I saw the dealer waxing it before I got it, but that may be a surface wax (and probably cheap). So I'm not in a hurry to wax it (and I hate waxing) but was curious as to when I can.
I have a polish that removes tar easily enough. But I was able to remove it with a little warm water and a...
and road tar, too! Only after 2 weeks! Gotta trade it in! :grinshot
Seriously, how soon can I wax it, or use a waterless polish? I have the Zaino Brothers wax kit so I wonder how long should I wait before using their #1 (the deep wax)?

Yippee! I just got a 2003 (so I haven't read this thread before). So do I have a C5.5? :cool
No more Electron Blue? I almost got that color instead of red, but I already have a blue 'vette. :love

(dang preview, lost my post... so a shorter one)
I remember my uncles talking about shifting at the right time based on the engine sound. I rarely pay attention to the tach (drove automatics for the longest time), but the HUD makes it easier.
Is the "55 limit" in the book for the break-in...
I got a GS convertible. Bought it new, only has about 25,500 miles on it. And, I put on 15000 miles the first year! :Steer
It helps having a second 'vette to drive. Now I have a new one to call my "beater". :crazy :s

Thanks, everyone. It's a 6 speed.
My game store is about a 30 minute drive, either by a street (a few less miles, but with construction going on) or by interstates with speed limits of 55 and 70 (and rarely does anyone do 55). I've been hitting speeds of 70 on occassion. The street path lets...
The manual says drive the new car for 500 miles to break it in. What's the truth? Is 55 really the top speed you should? Does anyone actually do so? What are the levels/miles and activities for breaking in a new C5 (coupe)?
I got my new red coupe last Saturday! :beer

So I'm not the only one. This happened a few years ago in my '98 around midnight. I pulled over, went to a pay phone, and called a tow truck which never showed up. I finally started the car, everything was okay, and drove home. I took it to the dealer the next day and they couldn't find...
Don't give me that crap about seeing it; I've heard this before about other things in pictures and my feelings were still the same after seeing the real thing. I absolutely hate that rear end, which then ruins the whole car. It's even uglier than the Aztec. You could not pay me to sit in that...
I'd not put on the hash marks. If they are meant to stay on through all kinds of weather and polishing, etc, then they'd probably pull up paint if you removed them. Also, sun fade on the non-hash mark area would be more pronounced if you were able to remove them without damaging the paint...
That's what I was referring to. After thinking about it I recalled that a Florida judge had ruled it unconstitutional?
Now that I've slept on it, I still cannot decide. :s
Maybe I will go for the 0% financing for 3 years, then pay it off then (and make a whopping 2% with the rest sitting in...
