My EGR pipe heat shield is very deteriorated and I purchased a new one from Corvette Central. It didn't come with any instructions and it looks like a very simple installation. My concern is the wire that is connected to a solenoid? in the pipe. It has to be disconnected to get the new shield...

Did you find your problem? I need to replace my valve cover grommets also on my '86. It only has 65,000 on it and runs great but I am getting leakage around both grommets and the oil fill cap. I don't know wether to just go to the auto parts store or look somewhere else. I don't see any...

Thanks and I'm sure you are right. As I have only owned the car for 3 years I never experienced new so I don't know what to expect and that is why I was asking. My father did own a '90 Olds and I remember that his windows moved slow in my way of thinking and that was when it was new.

Thanks for the reply mdsbch but that is not where I am having the problem. The service bulletin says if the door panel is coming loose at the rear of the door. Mine poped out towards the front of the door just under the defroster vents on both sides.

Both of my door panels have poped out at the top right under the defroster vents on my '86. The door panels themselves are in excellent shape so I really don't want to take them appart. The plastic defroster vents are also cracked. Any easy fixes? Thanks
