    cam and radiator

Yeah, And don't use too much RTV silicone on intake upon re-assembly. A friend worked for a local engine shop and excessive silicone is squeezed into the engine and gets into the oil passages causing all kinds of neat things to happen. Just a thought.:upthumbs

Question: How long do you leave your C-5 without a battery tender??

My 99 lasts about three weeks. When I store it, I disconnect the battery and just charge it in the spring. I don't like tenders on un-attended vehicles for obvious reasons since my car is stored away from my home. Also,If the 6-spd is not in reverse it will kill the battery sooner.(I picked that...

Video: Corvette Caught in Slippery Situation

I must agree. Vette's are useless in those kind of conditions. Even if you are a better than average pilot the car was/is not designed for weather like that. Besides, your beating up a beautiful auto just to prove you can go, that's ego. If you can afford a Vette, you can afford a 4WD beater...

poly urethane bushings anybody have em

Ah urethane bushings, they wear like iron, no, they wear out iron. Went the urethane route years ago and will never use them on weight bearing components again. I do miss driving over a quarter and being able to tell if it was heads or tails.

Happy Holidays Ralph, I use ONLY GM lube and their additive. I've used others and had problems with chattering, so now it's GM only.:thumb

    Wrecked my Vette

Sorry for your trouble Paul, I know how you feel, I crashed a beautiful 70 Vette once, wasn't my fault, but it still sucks either way. The air bags are fired using a small charge, after they are fired they deflate quickly and smoke is usually evident. I've seen many airbag deployments at my job...

    Cold Start Valve

On my 88 there is a ninth injector for cold starting, I replaced injectors with the BoschIII's and all my starting problems went away.Check and see if fuel pressure is holding at the fuel rail.

    Question: Memory Seat Issue

I deleted my memory seats, I think the side mirrors and steering wheel readjusted also on my 99. I figured it was just going to wear things out pre-maturely with the needless movement. I only drive the car and everything is where I want it.

    Naming my Vette

    Clutch Problem?

No I haven't, worked on conventional type clutches only. Dual mass fly wheel clutches sound like dual problems to me , Good Luck with it.:beer

    Clutch Problem?

It is my understanding that a throw out bearing is a intermittent (sp) bearing and not a countinous one, It should not be engaged when the clutch is released fully, other wise your riding the clutch.

Can a tire sidewall be patched?

Just my .02 cents . We patch/plug sidewalls on ATV tires all the time. BUT, we seldom exceed 25/35 mph. on occasion the machines will hit 65/70mph. Never would I do it on an automobile tire, let alone a Corvette. It causes a balancing nightmare also, vulcanizing rubber on to the tire, not to...
