Question: Yes we all love them........

While The Stingray isn't Toyota Corolla reliable, I think the worse possible scenario has occurred. Two major Auto publications have had mammoth highly visible engine failures during testing, and that is a big deal that should embarrass everyone at Chevy and GM. One of the cars was a highly...

    Video: Watch a Claimed-Stock Corvette Z06 Lay Down a 10.41-Second Quarter Mile

Looks like Ranger has pure stock Corvette performance competition!!! Looks like the weather was cold, and that's a big help, but that car sounds strong as hell. I have to give it to the guy: running the car that hard right after 500 miles is not a way to ensure longevity. We'll see how long...

    Starter recommendation

It's been a long time, so I don't know which replacement is best, but I know I would NOT get one at a local store or national chain that sells no-name replacements and re-builds. You never know what you're getting or where it's made, and the seller doesn't know either. These are units are...

    No start

That happened with my three C6s. I don't know what caused it, but the car started on the second try. It's a bit troubling, but since the car always started on the second try, I chose to ignore it. Besides, most dealer service departments won't even try to diagnose an intermittent issue.

    new guy...

Welocome!!! The wiki answer to your question: The engine was the same 235 CID inline six that powered all other Chevrolet models, but with a higher-compression ratio, three Carter side-draft carburetors, and a more aggressive cam. Output was 150 horsepower. Because there was currently no...

    84 power boost

Full disclosure - I have never worked on a TPI for TBI, but I have seen quite a few. All of them I can remember had later model computer and harness. As for the CA smog laws, that MAY be a problem. Although the late model motor will, undoubtedly be cleaner, it wasn't certified for the...

    84 power boost

Best bet is to find a nice later model, low miles garage queen that has been totaled. I'd get everything I could from the donor, especially the computer and harness. In the long run it's cheaper to replace than to cobble up the original.

GM announces it's importing Chinese Buicks in months

GM has announced early 2016 as the target for importing the Chinese made Buick Envision SUV. It probably was a matter of time, but GM has just freed me from having to buy GM to support an American Icon. I can now replace my ATS with a Bimmer or Equinox with a Kia without a guilty conscience...
