    Question: Clutch & Shift Q's...

How much free play do you have? Meaning the travel in the pedal before it disengages the clutch.

I heard, to keep the mice/chipmunks/gerbils and the like out of your car during storage, use dryer sheet's, you know, fabric softeners like Bounce.....

Dead Battery: Trickle Charge or Battery Disconnect

I've been disconnecting since 1973 without a/any problems. I remove the battery in the 99, takes 5min.The 88 is a little more involved, so we just disconnect. And for peace of mind, I'd rather not have an unattented vehicle plugged into house current 110/120V. When spring comes around just...

Dead Battery: Trickle Charge or Battery Disconnect

I have two Vette's that are laid up in the winter, I look at it this way, :ughFIRE...........Disconnecting eliminates that issue if it arises, A battery tender means to me that the unattened vehicles electrical sys.,( usually 4 months) is HOT, s&*t happens, I'd rather the vehicle goes thru it's...

Maybe it's not Johnson, but it's just different, isn't it?

I have always been a "Motorhead", I've had 6 Vette's, 1 Mustang 5.0, numerous 4 Wheelers, but I find Racing in general, boring. NASCAR especially, too many Okie sales pitch's too much trash talk. It seems like everything these days goes the way of Heavy weight wrestling. It's all just a show...

Warning! Got a royal Screwing from Eckler's

I also have ordered parts from Ecklers over the years, from front clips to knobs, only had a problem once with a leaky master cylinder, they did right by me. The whole/both sides of the story are never told..............

    "TB Power Coupler"

I worked in HVAC in the past and we always looked at moving air as if it were moving water. I put an air foil on my 88 and I don't know about any performance increase but the exhuast note definitly changed and the car seems to run smoother. Wether that's real or imagined I don't know, but I...

    Help! rear wheel bearings

I'm not sure on your 82, but the early C-3's I had and I think the 79 had small brake shoes in the rear rotors for the parking brake, I had a problem with the PB on one of them and it made some strange noises, just a thought...............

    Help! rear wheel bearings

I use to take the whole assembly out of the vehicle, take it to a shop and they would press out the old bearings and press in/preload the new ones.....

    Zero oil pressure

Wouldn't the engine have an audible clatter with no oil pressure???

Help! the diary of a lemon

My 88 was clean when I bought it. But after reading some posts here I decided to look at the radiator, It looked like a vacum cleaner bag, I had to remove the radiator to clean it properly. Yours seems heat up rapidly though, might be internal blockage or a sum total of both. Good Luck

    Mustangs Sound Better ?

Well, since we're sharing, When I was in ninth grade, I'd ride my bicycle to Charles St., sit on the curb and stare at the front end of a 64 Red Conv., I've been hooked ever since, I marveled at how the Vette looked like it was moving standing still and six Vette's later..............I'll be ok

    Mustangs Sound Better ?

The Mustang was over a Grand in 1989, I'm paying less than $500 a car for te Vette's I have now. I've had the same Insurance Co.for years, I shopped around when I had the Mustang and some Ins. co. would not cover me on that car as new business with a clean driving record..........

    Mustangs Sound Better ?

I was about 35yo. The Mustang was a daily driver, none of my Vette's were DD, might be a contributing reason.........

    Mustangs Sound Better ?

I had a 87 Mustang 5.0 LX, it was a nice car but it didn't have the same effect as a Vette. I thought insurance was high for the Mustang, I'm covering both of my Vette's for what it cost for the Mustang.....
