It takes much suffering to remove the stock knob. Be careful not to break the windshield and or dash.
Look at steps 1,2,3 below:

All C5s are great machines but there were some very good changes made in 2001:

I had a problem like that on my 2001 Impala. Loosing antifreeze but no leak. It was a gasket. I think it was under the intake manifold but not a head gasket. Not a big job. Had it back the same day.
Michelin tried to use its pull to make a last minute (and untested) configuration change to the track at the (Indy) US Grand Prix Race. FIA said NO! (Good for them.) After the Parade lap all the Michelin tems pulled into their garages and didn't race. Teams using the Bridgstone tires still ran...
Corvette versus Aston Martin made for some great racing. Very exciting! Now if Ferrari can get the lead out of its @$$ that will really heat things up.
If you've never watched one of these races you really need to check one out. Then you'll understand why some of us are just goofy over it...
I'm glad Corvette now has a worthy opponent. The racing is more exciting than just watching Corvette vs Corvette. Aston Martin has raised the bar.
Nothing Corvette can't handle in the long run.:lou
Was a 3 speed manual offered on a 1969 Corvette? I have found RPO codes for several 4 speeds but nothing for a 3 speed. Anyone have a Black Book handy?
Thanks,
Frank
The T-top is very special. Not many cars have it. More secure than a convertible and more versitile than a hardtop. No way it'll be discontinued. The fact that it costs less is just icing on the cake.
Your battery may have reversed a cell. A Car battery is actually several batteries (or cells) wired in series +- +- +- +- this adds the voltage of each cell together to reach the "12" volts of the total battery. (This is visually apparent if you look at an Optima battery.) Sometimes a cell will...
There are two methods to replace a C5 windshield. The best way involves partially unbolting the front fenders. The second way did not involve the fenders but has been discontinued by GM. There is a TSB on it. Check your GM Service Manual to make sure the installer knows what they are doing.
120,000 miles? Check to see if the valve cover gaskets if they are seeping oil onto the exhaust manifold (it'll smell). They'll leak for a while without any oil drops hitting the ground.
I used to keep the heater blower running on "cold". The moving air helped a little. You also need to remember there were a lot less cars 35 years ago so less traffic jams. The AC by JC or 4-60 (2 or 3 -60 in the vette) worked pretty well. Most cruising was done at night back then since most of...
I used NXT on my dark blue metallic and did not like the results. It changed the color and gave it a strange green hue. I think it made it look lighter not darker. I stripped it off with Dawn dishwashing soap and use Gold Class and it was back to normal.
The NXT looked so bad I wrote...
It may be just some residual oil left on the engine case after the repair. Keep an eye on the oil and tran fluid levels. If it is just leftover oil it should burn off in a few days.
