Doctor says I don't have much time

After almost 60 mostly exciting years on this earth I can truly say that one of the few goals that I still hope to reach is bellying up to the bar with Steve and the Junkman. Searcher - It is hard to really enjoy the moment of life before you get hit in the face with just how fragile and short...

    DeWitt Radiators

I have had good luck with both Dewitt's and BeCool products but the best cure for a hot running Vette is Evan's Waterless Coolant. I have been using waterless coolant in Thunder since the 383 installation. It have never seen 200º not even while pulling a trailer up a mountain in August stop and...

C4 Sales Values in the Toilet..confirmed

When C2s hit the market the price of Solid Axles fell through the floor. The same thing happened to C2s with the introduction of the C3 etc. When I left the states in 85 I put my '82 in storage because I could not get a fair offer for it. It is worth much more now than it was 20 years ago. When...

C4 Sales Values in the Toilet..confirmed

Where is Jane Ann? Junk - we could put Nelson between 'em and watch the fun while we sit on the roadside and sip some of your famous White Lighting.:D:D:D That is why I always get such a great deal. When I bought the ZR-1 I gave the owner a certified check that could only be cashed with...

Corvette Wont Start Yet Has Full Power

The jacking point is fine. Put your jackstands under the spot where the sub-frames attach to the side rails. If you use a lift put a hockey puck between the lift pads and the jacking points... not necessary but it makes things nicer. Odds are your problem is in the wiring. Usually the ground...

    C4 suspension help

There are lowering kits available but I do not think that you can get 3¨ drop with one. The Coil Over would give you total adjustment but it will add some weight to the front of your car. I had Coil Over's on the ZR-1 and they worked great. ...Or you could drop in a BigBlock 503 to add some...

    Floor panel repair

Use a silicon remover to clean the surface. Otherwise you WILL have fish eyes. Then a 2 part fiberglass primer, sand smooth and spray with whatever compatible topcoat makes you happy.

yes if you're serious you need a welder

Grumpy, Looking at your short list the entry level is around a thousand $ for a decent welder. That makes the used market look better and better. I bought the ThermalArc 250 with wire feed and plasma cutter adapter used for a bit less than 1K. My recommendation to people buying their 1st welder...

    E.O.S. GONE??

In the ¨good old days¨ I coated all contact surfaces with STP during assembly. I am sure that it was better than a dry assembly but:ohnoes for the cam lobes, big ends, etc. Now I always use the MFGs recommended lube or a Moly lub if the manufacturer does not suggest a specific lubricant. The...

yes if you're serious you need a welder

The Spanish have a welder called ¨the Eagle¨ that has been in production, unchanged, since 1948. It is a big @$$ auto transformer AC STIK welder made with no less than 200 pounds of coper wire. It has an On/Off switch and 10 3/4 inch coper plugs connected to taps on the transformer. No meter, No...

    Too much replaced too soon?

I have never seen 30K out of a set of brake pads but I do drive like a maniac and change things when they are 1/2 way worn out. I also have all of the receipts to back up the 3K oil changes, etc., etc. Even doing burnouts for the locales I do not think that I could cook a GM clutch in less...

    '92 ZR1 for 10k?

:confusedA 92 Z for 10K is unheard of! I have seen wrecked/chassis bent ZR-1s go for more than that on this of the pond. I Sold my 91 for over $25K and the engine had been messed with by Jeal, which is why I sold it. Can we say high $$$ overhaul on the horizon? Anyway any Drivable ZR1 is...
