Why the Corvette will be successful and why you don't like it.

I think any distractions with the rear end looking like a Camaro are entirely North American based observations. We see/say "Camaro" because we are familiar with it. Globally, the Camaro isn't that well known, so the comparisons to it across the pond will be minimized. And based on other...

Active Rev Matching & CAGS & DOD

Wow, that's a very interesting and astute observation! *golf clap* Since the car does 0-60 in 1st gear, it does seem to make more sense to have 2nd & 3rd inline with each other. Unless having 1-2 inline makes more sense for a 1/4 mile run (which it does). Or, I don't know for sure, but isn't...

    2014 C7 Beautiful Poll

Matt, I had a reply to you (and others) typed up in this thread, but after reading my reply, figured it deserved it's own thread and as a way to not hijack this thread. My reply is here: www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/c7-corvette/133452-why-corvette-will-successful-why-you-dont-like.html

Why the Corvette will be successful and why you don't like it.

I had originally posted this as a response to someone in the "2014 C7 Beautiful Poll" thread, but thought that it was enough of it's own idea to spur conversation separate from the poll. Thus, here it is... -------------- -------------- And therein lies what I believe is the problem. You...

    2014 C7 Beautiful Poll

Whoa! I think the Earth's magnetic poles just switched. A Callaway owner talking about a car being overpriced? AND it's in reference to a base model Corvette??? My head's about to explode. :crazy "True Corvette Lovers"....from one to another??? ;squint:

Radiator air venting through the hood

Really? You have to ask? :chuckle It's MAGIC!!! DUH!!!! :eyerole :L...Seriously, though, I hadn't thought of that. Without going back and inspecting some of the pics, I'm gonna guess there's a splitter somewhere in the front fascia or a smaller opening specifically for the air intake...

    2014 C7 Corvette Stingray Unveiled!

From everything I've been reading from trade mags and watching interviews with the Chevy staff, every vent/duct is functional and purpose-serving. -------- Someone had said earlier that if the design of the car was simply 'evolutionary', it would've flopped because it wouldn't have been worth...

Active Rev Matching & CAGS & DOD

Since CAGS is effectively an EPA thing, I'm wondering if they've done away with it since the car now has DOD? Does it not effectively work to attain the same goal, that being less fuel consumption when it's not needed?

    2014 C7 Beautiful Poll

That is pretty sharp! Very English looking! I could see James Bond doing dramatic things with that car!

Radiator air venting through the hood

Thanks, Mike. But my question was rhetorical in nature. :chuckle I meant for it to be posed as the "obvious" question. I have since gone back and tried to make it appear more that way. :) There are no fumes generated. All it's doing is taking fresh air and passing through a tunnel in which...

Active Rev Matching & CAGS & DOD

I've never had to worry about CAGS, but I know it's one of the first things manual transmissions owners usually disable/defeat. Any one care to venture a guess on how these two will play together? (Assuming CAGS is still there.) I'm also curious to know how the cylinder (de)activation will...

    Just saw the C7...

I've found not to trust the list of cars attending. When the C6 ZR-1 debuted, it wasn't listed as being at the Cleveland Auto Show. Disappointed, I still went to the show regardless. Woh was me when I got there without my camera and not only was the ZR-1 there, they also had a cut-away...

Radiator air venting through the hood

"Why let the hot air pass over the engine when you can evacuate it outside?" I think this is a great idea! But I have a question that always comes to mind when I see cars with open hood scoops / vents / etc... "Where does the water go when it rains or you wash your car?" On most cars(?), I...

    Just saw the C7...

I don't think it will be noticed. How much buffeting or air turbulence does the current C6 get? Either way, the air coming out over the hood will be negligible. It's not like it's evacuating 180°-200° air. The air coming out will be warm, but not blistering hot. As soon as it mixes with the...

Live Video Feed of the 2014 C7 Corvette Unveiling - This Sunday Night

We're zeroing on the taillights because that's the only significant gripe that we seem to have. We don't share your same disliking for the rest of the car. If we have to "zero in on a list of items" and the list contains only 1 item, well...yep! I guess we're gonna zero in on that same item...

    2014 C7 Beautiful Poll

I really like it! I have only very minor "ehh"s, none of which would keep me from jumping on this car immediately if I had the cash in hand. (except maybe knowing that every year the car gets better, so do I wait or jump? Ya gotta jump at some point!) Even better though, is that the wifey...

    2014 C7 Corvette Stingray Unveiled!

cdvision, Welcome to the :CAC Yes, the car has an electronic parking brake. One of the reasons it was chosen it because it frees up more center console space for the driver. I don't see it being a major issue if you have automatic trans, but a p-brake is definitely nice to have with a manual...

Live Video Feed of the 2014 C7 Corvette Unveiling - This Sunday Night

PS - the video feed from the CAC worked just fine and on-time... 7pm EST. Not sure what caused everyone else to miss it... No matter now, pretty soon this will be old news (the unveiling). Now it's time to get into the hands of the industry rags and see how it rates! And in case you did miss...

Live Video Feed of the 2014 C7 Corvette Unveiling - This Sunday Night

Awesome, as expected! I thought for sure though that the square taillights were just a decoy. That's the only disappointment. But I can live it if someone is willing to put the new Stingray in my garage! Hope you're having a blast, Rob! Did they say what the expected MSRP is going to be and...
