Anyone have one cluttering up their garage? I need a decent tire for a spare for my 77 and I prefer to get a Goodyear Eagle GT so it matches what I have on the car. I don't want to spend a lot of $$ because I can get a new tire (not Goodyear) for about $60, so I guess I'm looking for someone...
Well this sounds pretty reliable but I thought there was kind of like a "law of diminishing returns" with back pressure on L98's. That is, after you eliminate some back pressure, there isn't really any more to be gained from eliminating more back pressure? Or something like that.

Thanks for the sport mirrors - I received them today - I was expecting blue ones off this 77 you are parting out but got silver ones with glass dates of '78. Thats OK with me because they are in good shape and price was good!

Thanks, I'm considering those wheels but really interested in just the right or perhaps R&L priced without tires or maybe a beat up wheel that can be refinished.
I just bought a 77 that looks just like yours (same color, only not as nice as yours) and I have the same problem. I think it's the drains or windshield. Guy I bought it from told me no leaks. :mad Two weeks after I bought it water is on the floor after a heavy rain. I haven't gotten...
A couple of months ago I bought a 1977 L48 four speed. Were all 4 speeds the M21 close ratio? The CAC Model Center information on 77s indicates:
49,213 Total 77s made
41,231 Turbo hydra-Matic automatics
2,060 4 speed close ratio Manual transmissions (M21)
______
5,922 left from above...
Your are correct about the 2;59s being stock! I just upgraded to a rebuilt 3:07 at the end of last year. It is my understanding that the performance option was 3:07 in 1989. (or if you want, 3:08, close enough!)
My 89 convertible has been lowered front and rear. Will clearance of headers be a problem? Thinking of TPIS headers but I am concerned that with the car lowered I will be dragging the headers on every driveway/speed bump out there.
Any information about this would be appreciated.
PS...
Looks like this was done a couple of years ago BUT it is very well written, interesting stuff, and full of good information that is somewhat "timeless" !
Nicely done Rob !
