Has anybody tried removing 20+ year old dealer applied, sprayed -on undercoat from a Corvette?
I've heard about using "brake fluid" soaking and scrubbing method. And also someone suggested a "Steam Cleaner" or a hot-water pressure washer to do this.
Either way sounds like a P.I.T.A. method...
frozen bolts
When I removed my convertor I had the same problem.
So, I just "Muscled-Up" and broke off about 3 of them and the rest came out the correct way. (Note: cussing helps!)
I replaced the bolts upon re-assembly. Be carefull, the convertor is pretty heavy
Yes, I am drooling over the 405h.p. right now!
BUT,..........I still want a RAGTOP with this kind of performance. Or at least a removable targa top! Gotta hear that exhaust note roar!
It's also time for an "Orange" color to make a comeback. Have'nt seen a good Orange since the early 70's

Removing the hood
I found removing the hood helps alot. It's not very difficult at all to remove the hood on a C3 ( does take two people ) but only about 10 minutes and it's off. This way you can do lots of clean up work in the frontal area and behind the front bumper and such.
Take your time...
Help
Anybody :confused HELP!
I know they make aftermarket "adjustable" sway bars for these cars, but I need genuine GM parts that was available on 92-96 Corvettes.
shifty kit!
ssvet, Have you ever installed one of these?
They appear to be somewhat involved in the transmission valve body. I'm not quite sure if this is a "Do-It-Yourshelf" thing for the average Vette owner without a lift.
This is off a Impala Owners message board, it is a "how-to-install"...
Shift Kit
I was going to try the Trans-Go shift kit for the 350C auto trans in my 1980. Here is there website, you can buy straight from them. Word has it that this is the best shift kit going. Costs like $75 for your 1980 Corvette.

Pedro74': You get around, don't you.
Really, I cannot see going any more than 70 ft./lbs. any more sounds excessive.
On 1996 model Corvette, the Z51 package was available again. It wasn't avail from 91-95.
It was not available on 1996 Convertibles, including "Grand Sport" models.
My question is, can I install Z51 stabilizer bars on a car (convertible) that came with the base suspension? Stock G.M. stabilizer...
No Electrical Fires here!
This is a very good reason to use a "Battery Cut-Off Switch" on all cars that sit for any period of time or are collectors / race cars.
I know sometimes you need power when working on them, but not always.
Cheap Insurance! I use them and recommend them for anything...

You gotta see this page to know what I'm talking about!
Looking at those spec's, I gotta wonder if 1.6 ratio roller rockers would make a HUGE differnce on an LT1?
Add some head clean up and minor port-matching,new stronger valve...
1995's
I like the 95's
OBD 1
Improved Opti-Spark over 1994
J55 big brakes standard, not on 94's
1996's are just as good except for you have the O.B.D. 2 computer for emissions controls ( more powerful computer=harder to modify or fool)
I've had both and they ran equally as well, If you...

I bought some also, haven't tried them yet. But tried to get the first one started out of the container was a nightmare as twiget said.
But I do use silicone based products such as ArmorAll.
