    Renegade

It's not really an issue because you can't buy one to test. I had in mind to take an '84, 2 available one with 50K and the other 70K plus, both automatics and do a good update/tune. There is a dyno 45 miles from me that can run the before and after for me. Actually I think 3 tests would be in...

    Renegade

If he had done a tune, chip, fuel pump change, and 1.6 roller rockers would he have gained half of that 30 HP without the new intake? I've seen figures between 12 and 15 HP for just those rocker changes on a good tune, so is that about normal? Or did he use new light weight valve spring caps and...

    '94 Brakes??

Personal opinion here, I'll not have another drilled rotor since I got them on my C6. The vanes collect the brake dust along with normal rust on iron rotors plus it adds $30/$40 per rotor. When you wash them out comes the black dust, at least most of it, the rest slings out onto the inside of...

    Loud belt squeal

Love that shot, can you tell if it has lost any tension? I see it's back against the stop but just a bit whopperjawed. :cool!:

    Loud belt squeal

Got to go along with the idea that the entire tensioner should be replaced not just the pulley. While you have the belt off check all the driven pulleys to be sure they all rotate smoothly and freely. If it is damaging your main belt I would guess that it is not the AC belt that is the problem...

    air pressure sensor problem

Reread your post of 6-14-2011, they did not tell you the system will activate when the pressure reaches 6 PSI . Pressure is to be set a 30 PSI cold, if it drops to 25 or below, 6 pounds, it will activate a warning. The information they gave you was correct.

Question: C5 Squirrely, is this normal and why

    4. Don't expect to drive a C5 or a C6 like you would a C1, C2, C3 or a C4. 5. You will drive your C5 much different after you buy a new set of Michelin run flats sport tires for the rear.

    air pressure sensor problem

Could very well be the gas cap seal is dirty or it was not tightened correctly. My grandson drives his '08 Impala on a dirt road and we have to clean the seal and knock out code P0440 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System every few months. Sorry, now back to the TPMS problem.............. :thumb

    2007 Z06 - Front tire sensors

You may want to get the tire pressure more in line with what GM recommends, 30 PSI cold. If there is a problem it would be recognized because you know the tire has the correct pressure versus a guess that it is not reading properly. The 28 PSI should not have triggered the warning but it is...

NASCAR's generation gap at the root of Busch-Childress skirmish

Nope, was talking about electric cars, not a hybrid. We may never see 6 hour pit stops for recharge. Then again they could do a 3,000 Lb. battery swap or maybe a grid above the track to drag a contact on like they did with the bumper cars and trolleys, as I don't ever expect to see them dragging...

NASCAR's generation gap at the root of Busch-Childress skirmish

Doesn't really matter since there is no "stock" car racing anymore. None of the cars on the track can be purchased by the public, let alone the pickups. It only catches my attention on rare occasions and then is not something I would spend money to watch. Ford seems to be comming in with a...

    2007 Z06 - Front tire sensors

What pressure does it show on the DIC and what does it check with a hand gage before and after you drive it long enough to get the tires hot?

    Bulb failure

I had another left side park, running, directional light burn out and have seen this on a number of other GM vehicles. The contacts were scorched and dark brown that would make me think there could be some extra heat in there or arcing. Just the contacts, no obvious damage to the plastic housing...

    Rear Crossover Brake Line

Your front brakes will carry you through a few sensibly driven miles. That's a divided master cylinder and if the fronts aren't leaking it's drivable. If you're talknig about the line running front to back I'd replace it with a reproduction line. Your worst job will be the joint at the block in...

    Targa Top Question

I must have had a bad '92, it shook and rattled like a skinny dog passing razor blades with the top off. I think I only had that top off 3 or 4 times and that was to clean and lube the seals. That's normal driving I never raced that one as I piled 92K on it in 4 years doing my work.

Replace clutch bypass switch or get rid of.

Interesting point, I'll add one more. On my C6, if I for some reason am unable to move, no one can get in my doors because the shift lever is not in reverse. I still do a flight attendance revirew for new riders on how you get out of it if I'm unable to help them. The reply from most is " You're...

Replace clutch bypass switch or get rid of.

The principle is not the same, poor conclusion. If that were true I would expect that there would be a safety switch to keep people from leaving their kids in a closed car out in the sun all day while they are at work. You still need to think when you are doing anything, sleeping doesn't count...

Replace clutch bypass switch or get rid of.

I have no idea what this has to do with a safety switch, would most likely require people to think. Carry on...........

Replace clutch bypass switch or get rid of.

My god I didn't know how bad it is to have a car that has no safety switches at all. I need to get to work on all three of those cars before they wreck the whole world. Might need to get rid of my cell phone to, I hear those cause lots of accidents. Then again maybe I just need to think...
