    Vacuum line at FPR

I put a line from the plenum to the FPR and it ran horrible, no throttle response, burpin and fartin'. Blocked off the FPR and plenum and it leveled off again, but still not enough to adjust the idle. Followed the FSM procedure for holding pressure, ie: pinching supply flex line, pinching...

    Vacuum line at FPR

Thanks guys, I have that diagram, but with the elimination of the EGR and AIR plumbing, can I just put a line from the plenum to the FPR? I do have a FSM, I didnt however look at the elimination procedure to isolate the drop in pressure. Will get on that tomorrow afternoon.

    Vacuum line at FPR

Now with most of the plumbing from the AIR system removed, what do I do for a vacuum line at the FPR? Also, did a leak test on the fuel system and it dropped from 36 to almost zero in a few seconds. Time for new injectors? WAS going to call FIC, just havent had the chance yet. Car is bucking at...

    Question: Seat covers

I ordered a 7 piece set of simulated leather covers (uppers, lowers, shift boot, console cover and e brake pad) from Ebay. A place called Outlaw corvette outfitters for $235. Instructions and his cell number accompanied my order, which made it very easy to complete, using the existing spring...

    CRAP! Water in the oil!

I still got the time to straighten this engine out, the snow is still falling here and probably will for another 6 weeks or so. Just excited to get this engine on the road and see what it can do after all the work this winter.

    CRAP! Water in the oil!

Going back and thinking what went wrong...I originally bought all gaskets and all the good things thinking I had the original L98 in the car...then finding out it had been replaced with a 305, I believe I used the head gaskets I bought for a 86 L98 after I had the new engine built, which is a...

    CRAP! Water in the oil!

Got about a total of 30 minutes run time on the new engine, (including the 20 or so minutes for cam break in). Sounds great(still open headers) runs great...but, never able to fill the radiator to fill. Everytime I looked in, it was low on coolant. Was away for a few weeks on vacation, came back...

    Hypertech or jet chip

During my recent rebuild, I shot Brian at TBICHIPs an email with all the modifications I was doing and they burnt me a Stage2 chip. Even answered the phone when I called and stayed on the line and helped with a small technical question. All for under 150 bucks. Havent pushed the engine yet...

    Still no speedometer

If thats the red gear, yes, that is in there...just baffled by a couple of things, although after finding the last engine was a 305, nothing should surprise me. The speed sensor that was in there looked liked someone tried using a can opener to get it out, then to find out there was no green...

    Still no speedometer

Hey all, while replacing the engine, I replaced the speed sensor and the green gear behind it that was missing when I took it apart. Took it out for a short spin around the block and I noticed I still dont have an operating speedometer. Any ideas or suggestions on this? Thanks in advance :w

ready to take the fuel rails off my 85'-opinion

I didnt drain the old gas...it was in a heated garage and I only stopped driving it in November, so I figured the gas couldn't be bad.

ready to take the fuel rails off my 85'-opinion

Fuel pressure gauge is pretty inexpensive at Harbor Freight right now. (14.99). I just bought one and it worked great. My 86 ran good when i parked it, changed the engine and it wouldnt start (See new engine, no start thread) come to find out, fuel pump went bad while parked! Good luck!
