I THINK its the stock rear end...but nothing surprises me lately...how can I be sure?

The fun just keeps piling on this weekend. Figured I could still change the speed sensor in the 4+3 since the speedometer hasnt worked since I owned the vehicle. Got the old sensor out and fournd out why it didnt work...there is no gear on the shaft! Is this gear available anywhere? Thanks

L98 Cast iron, 1986

All the parts came in, so this morning started putting the heads together when I noticed the 1.94 intake valves are slightly larger diameter than the valves that were there. I checked the old ones and they are 1.83 or so. Any idea why? Looked for valves that siz and cant be found. Can I use the...

Hey all, does anybody know why the valve spring retainers on the exhaust valves are a 2 piece assembly which can spin amd the intake retainers are solid? Cant find the two piece retainers, all I see are solid. Any info is appreciated. Oh, its a 86 L98, with cast iron heads. :w

Surfer and others hit it dead on about being bottom feeders and sucking in everything to the radiator. Just got my radiator out this week during the rebuild and my goodness, I was shocked to see the amount of leaves and grass and trash packed up in there!

thats what I was hoping for, not too much of a challenge! Got the engine stripped down, A/C, radiator, intake are all off, exhaust manifolds removed from the heads but still on pipes. For headers, has anybody tried Hedman 68440 headers? If so, what about oxy sensor and EGR air tube? Any Installation issues? Thanks

No idea how many miles I have...bought it a year and a half ago with 98,000 and the speedo not working..(its on this winters to do list), but I drive it often in the summer. Also in New England here, northern Rhode Island, about 20 miles south of Worcester.

Has anybody put a finish on their plenum and runners? Ive seen a polishing service on eBay, but was wondering if anybody here has painted/powder coated a finish on a L98 plenum and runners. If so, any pics? :w

Thanks, vetteoz....cracked a beer...no problem with that...budget..really havent thought too much about that. Are aluminum heads that much better than the cast iron on my L98 now? I just thought that while apart, now would be a good time for a cam change, low end, muscle car feeling. Long tube...
