    odd sound when cold

    1. Start 'er up cold and listen and carefully feel top and bottom. You should be able to hear a leak if there is one. 2. I'd start at exhaust manifolds, then work your way down to cat. connections, then rearwards to each and every connection. One give-a-way might be carbon black staining around...

    Help! 2006 Automatic Shift stuck

Common problem. Same thing on my '07 but hot starts as well, and it is not consistent. Locks out whenever it feels like it; not every time. Can go for weeks or months with no problems then starts again sporadically. Yes, some times moving auto shift knob forward will release it, but not always...

$2700 for a rear main seal and clutch?

Hib- please explain the difference between a flush and a change. My '07 owner's manual says "change" every 50,000 miles under "severe service" (sic) and every 100,000 miles under "normal" service. Can fluid be changed rather than flushed (as is back flush)? Also, by "drive axle... lubricant" you...

Have you pulled codes yet. Based on your description, it could be the optispark. How many miles on it and is your water pump leaking. You can check by taking an inspection mirror and light and check the weep hole on the bottom of the pump. Report back please.

Help! C4 ZR1 Activation of Air Conditioning blows out new Alternators

Chuck, did you get this problem resolved? When you say the alternator "blows up", do you mean the diodes blow and your dash volt reading goes to zero? ... and this is immediate? Amazing that you don't blow a safety fuse first.

$2700 for a rear main seal and clutch?

Oops. Forgot your manual. I was concentrating on the word, "flush". I'm a goof.

$2700 for a rear main seal and clutch?

I would never flush a transmission that is not causing problems. They can break crap loose that can end up causing you problems with a good working transmission. If that trans ain't causing problems, don't flush!

    Question: C6 2005

Time period yes. As for me, I lost my clock around 12/18/18 after disconnecting my battery to install new seat covers in my '07 vert. A few days later I started snooping around the web trying to figure out what went haywire. If you check this site under the heading, Technical and Performance...

    Question: C6 2005

vett boy, When was the last time you disconnected your battery on your C6? I am not trying to be facetious, just helpful. If you have done this since, say mid-to-late December 2018 to present, and you still have your GPS clock, then you are blessed because there are thousands of folks with C6's...

    Question: C6 2005

Then please let us know if your GPS clock works after you disconnect the battery. I hope your clock still works, but I'll bet it does not.

    Question: C6 2005

The GPS clock issue has nothing to do with long-term storage, indexing windows, reprogramming radio, or anything else like that. If you have a GPS clock, and maybe you don't, and your vehicle is less than a 2011 I believe, you will lose your clock permanently if you disconnect the battery from...

    Question: C6 2005

    Optispark

Sorry. Just found this. You can take the route that most sets your mind at ease, but as for me, I'd just bolt it in, put everything back in place and go for a drive.
