    Intermittent Fluctuating Idle

Thanks. I do have access to a scan tool. After IAC change from original OEM (65,000 mi.), characteristics were diff. in that idle speed would drop from high idle to normal idle when hot, this first replacement resulted in fluctuating idle from about 600rpm, instantaneously, to 800rpm and back...

    Intermittent Fluctuating Idle

I do. What should I be referring to in there? With my specific symptoms and no DTC codes there's not much in the book that can point me in the right direction. I've been pouring all over it. No joy! BTW, nice to hear from you. Actually, a couple of years ago you helped me correct a fuel pressure...

    Hood operation

replacing the hood pin springs is a possible solution? It's more than possible; it is a probable.

    Intermittent Fluctuating Idle

Really? No one has an idea out there in C4 land?

    Hood operation

The new springs will do it. They are the little guys that pop the hood up a couple of inches so you can get your fingers under there and lift it.

    Intermittent Fluctuating Idle

This has probably been beaten to death but here goes..... '95 Stock Lt1 with 67,000 miles. Since I can remember engine has had intermittent higher-than-normal idle on a hot engine after cold start; around 900 rpm when hot. Turning ignition off and back on solves the problem until 20-30 cold...

    Optispark

My wife and I just completed a 2000 mile round trip in the C4 and the optispark was absolutely flawless. It is also still drawing a good vacuum as many others I tried did not, as you know.

    Optispark

Actually that effective venting began in 94-95 and carried over to the last C4 production in 96. Someone correct me if you know otherwise.

    Optispark

Spectra Premium Industries is where my brother got my reasonably inexpensive opti. High quality for the price. I'd be interested in knowing how this works out for you.

    Optispark

    1. Regarding vacuum testing the opti, you will notice two orifices on the opti, other than the 8 spark plug terminals. One of the orifices should be brass or aluminum and the other is molded plastic as part of the opti mold. The brass orifice is used to draw vacuum through the attached hose...

    Optispark

Ted's Opti Experience C4 '95 I just replaced the opti on my 95 C4. I don't have the mfg. right now but my bro, an ANSI mechanic who owns his own shop, will get me that info today and I will let you know. In the meantime, here are some comments based on the 4 opti's I have either used with...

    Chasing Down Fuel Problem

Your first step should be to pull codes. Auto parts stores such as Advance will do this for you free. Let us know what, if any, codes are showing. Definitely do this before you just start throwing money at the problem.

C6 Won't Start, All pulleys locked

Are you trying to move the pulleys with a breaker bar or what? Hands can't turn belted pulleys. Not connected to your problem. For starters (no pun intended): 1. Load test battery 2. Pull computer codes 3. Check battery ground, including engine and chassis grounds. Don't forget starter "hot"...

    Question: 1996 Tail Pipes

The stock ones are rectangular cast aluminum, black finish. If you see any chromed rectangular ones, than they are probably aftermarket, which I don't really like. I'm trying to keep my C4 stock

    Question: 1996 Tail Pipes

Round ones are aftermarket for sure.

Air Force WNRO Updates Affecting GPS Clocks on C6's??

Quite by accident I just found out there are a ton of Ford Trucks with the same issue.

Air Force WNRO Updates Affecting GPS Clocks on C6's??

WNRO: Effects Could Be Worse Than Y2K Please follow me on this one. I am not a weirdo trying to cause panic among my fellow C6 owners, and others. Above is very old info from 1999 (remember Y2K scare) about WNRO GPS updates. WHO KNEW? I, and several others with C6 Corvettes, have fairly...

    '07 C6 Clock Not Working

I have researched this problem extensively and can't find a great number of problems with this. Of the comments I have found, one respondent (Canada) said the USAF, who control all GPS satellites, recently changed some GPS frequencies affecting the C6 clocks (pre- 2012), and that there may be a...
