Thanks. I did some research tonight and am finding this out. Can't find anyone who knows why the problem occurs after disconnecting the battery. First time this has happened.

    '07 C6 Clock Not Working

Anyone else experience this problem and find a fix? I just replaced my seat covers and disconnected battery while working on the seats. After completion I reconnected battery and now I have no clock. Going to clock settings does no good because none of the menu selections work when I touch them...

Question: c6 oil pan gasket replacement

I had a seepy oil pan on my C6. It is not IF the pan will leak, but WHEN. When I told this to my brother he laughed at me and said his was perfect at 9,000 miles. The next month he noticed his pan was wet with oil too. HA! Not enough to leak but enough to wet the bottom of the pan. I found out...

Maybe YOU can help me out...

Here is exactly what your problem is. My C6 exhibited the same problem a couple of years ago. I noticed the strange humming vibration only when traveling over 60mph into a head wind. Traveling with the wind at the same speed there was no hum. So I figured it was wind related. Sure enough I...

Question: Is the rotor of headlight door supposed to be able to turn freely?

Sorry. Wow, my first "dislike" ever. Hope I didn't cause anyone any injury or money loss. My owning a 95 and 07 make the 84-87 C4s seem ancient to me so I rarely even read those posts very carefully. Now, ask me about a '95 Opticrap. I could write a book!

Question: Is the rotor of headlight door supposed to be able to turn freely?

Yes, the rotor knobs should turn easily to manually recycle the headlight doors. More than likely those little nylon rollers inside the mechanism have crumbled to the point of total failure and binding. When I disassembled my door actuators, nylon particles (chunks and dust mixed with grease)...

C4 Lt1 Intermittent High Idle on Start; Returns to Normal Idle on Reastart 100%

Sorry for the long subject but this is a weird situation. Have 95 LT1 with 50k miles. Since about 25k miles, intermittently when I start engine either cold or hot, the idle goes to normal high idle but may drop to about 500-600 rpm (with AC and headlight load and in drive) when engine reaches...

Help! Help!!! 92 Coupe down, need current (2018) opti info!

Make certain you find out what caused the Opti to go out. Could be internal parts, could be leaking water pump (water of course), could be leaking cam cover-to-water pump seal (oil), could be leaking cam cover Opti seal (oil). Your older C4 does not have forced fresh air circulation. With '94...

MSC Cap & Rotor Kit for 1995 C4 LT1 Problem

MSD Cap & Rotor Kit for 1995 C4 LT1 Problem I just purchased this Cap & Rotor Kit. Looks well made. Problem is there is an extra plastic tab and what MSD calls a "Clamp-Block" (alum piece) about 5-10 degrees from top center of the black/red plastic distributor insulator. The clamp-block appears...

Lt1 Water Pump Seal Install Tool ('95 C4)

Thank you for responding. Actually, I did the Sharpie tip-cover route. Hollowed out the inside and the fat end of the cover is just fractionally larger in dia. than the cam output shaft where the seal rides. Wishe me luck. Right now I'm working on pulling the hub from the driveshaft end and it...

95 C4 Water Pump Drive Shaft Wobble

Well, I did a little deeper research and it seems the cam output shaft has ball bearings on the end of the cam shaft and must rely on the cam output shaft-to-water pump input shaft coupler to support the front end. Without this bit of play at the coupler union it would be a mutha getting the...

95 C4 Water Pump Drive Shaft Wobble

Hello guys. I have not posted in a very long time. I need some help. I was getting ready to replace all 3 timing cover seals/gaskets (including the oil pan seal) on the old gal (only 54,000 miles). Just after removing the water pump seal I noticed that the splined output shaft has a definite...
