Question: Trying to find C6 transaxle oil info

Not trying to be smart, but I'm curious as to why you still want the article when you have been supplied the correct P/N for the gear oil earlier in this thread. What else is in the article you would like to know?

Question: Trying to find C6 transaxle oil info

I used the trans axle lube in my '07. Cured the clutch pack chatter. I still have an unopened quart. Here is the name and part number: Dexron LS Gear Oil, 75w-90. Says it already contains limited slip friction modifier so DO NOT ADD MORE LIMITED SLIP OIL with this gear oil. The P/N is #88862624...

Inexpensive Fix: C6 LS2 Fuel Pressure Loss at Shut-Off

Thank you Hib. I will do more testing per manual. I do not currently have a shop manual but my brother is ASE Certified and is a professional subscriber to Mitchell On-line. It costs him a fortune but he says it is worth it. Have you ever used that service? I'll see what Mitchell's comes up...

Inexpensive Fix: C6 LS2 Fuel Pressure Loss at Shut-Off

Oops. "2. The only time I have this problem, cold or hot engine, is with ambient temps above 70 deg F. Below this, give or take 5 deg F and I get that extended crank." I mean to say..... "Below this, give or take 5 deg F and I don't get that extended crank."

Inexpensive Fix: C6 LS2 Fuel Pressure Loss at Shut-Off

Thanks Dad and Hib, Year: 2007 Injector Test: Did not run, but maybe will. The reason I'm looking rearward is that once she fires there is no stumbling, very smooth idle, no hesitation, no fuel smell, no black smoke. I might add I ran a Tech III which showed no hard or soft codes. Here are...

    Goo Gone

Yeah, Goof Off and Goo Gone willll both work without damage to your paint. Heck, I've sparingly (and quickly) used lacquer thinner on late model clear coats with no problems whatsoever, but I would not recommend it to the squeamish or foolish. My '95 C4, for one, has seen that a few times and...

Inexpensive Fix: C6 LS2 Fuel Pressure Loss at Shut-Off

Some of you may have read a thread about this condition on many C6 LS2's on this site and others. Mine, with 12K miles is one of them. Through fuel pressure checks at various ambient and engine temperatures I have determined that the most likely cause of my fuel pressure loss at cut-off (total...

Zero Fuel Pressure = Instant Startup WTF

To Hib re: C6 Zero Fuel Pressure After Sitting Hib, I can't respond directly to your post on this thread as it does not appear.... weird. Via email through this site, you asked if I have a service manual. Unfortunately I don't. I did not expect this type of expensive problem with my low...

Zero Fuel Pressure = Instant Startup WTF

Can someone please explain to me how I can have zero fuel pressure on a cold start and get an instant startup? This is not the whole story so please allow me to explain, and sorry for the long post. I localized my "long crank til startup" (LCTS) problem to warm days only. I have 12,000 miles on...

Warning! Mid - America car cover disaster

Dang gmjunkie, I kinda like that custom cracked glass look. I was recently in a glass shop and they wanted premium $$ for a look like that. Very cool. Neatest thing is bug guts would not be much of a problem would they?:L

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

I've read much testing on the airfoil and smooth coupler. Both really do nothing for performance. Opening up the air filter box does help some and you'll gain a little more with a high-flow air filter. Running a colder thermostat does squat and we can say the same for the throttle body hot water...

Help! C6 Yellow Caliper Paint for both Velocity and Competition Yellow Vettes

6 Shooter, Actually, mustard is just about the right color for the Competition Yellow. For Velocity Yellow I'd have to add a touch of green, say... something like pickle relish juice. Dang, a dawg and a beer is sounding good right about now.:thumb

Help! C6 Yellow Caliper Paint for both Velocity and Competition Yellow Vettes

Thanks for the quick response LLC5. I just checked with a large national auto paint supplier today (CarPaint). They said they do not mix or carry hi-temp (500 degree F+) paint. Does anyone else have a suggestion. I can't believe there are those of you out there with that purty yaller color that...

Help! C6 Yellow Caliper Paint for both Velocity and Competition Yellow Vettes

I am determined to paint my own calipers. I have an '07 C6 now with red calipers but want to change to a color that is at least "close" to the yellow hue of the Velocity Yellow. I also own a '95 in Competition Yellow. If I can find a reasonably close match to the C6 I'll do the C4 in the same...

    Engine Noise

Without more info I'm going to go with a varnished lifter. Pour in a can of Marvel Mystery Oil in your oil. Follow directions cause you may have to drain out an equal amount of oil first. Once it's in just take here out for a gentle ride, and if I'm right the noise should go away after a few...

    Weather Stripping Peeling

Your C6 weather stripping should be semi-gloss at best, not glossy. Also, this thred is addressing acutal peeling seal finish, not spotting/mottling. The ONLY thing I've found to make the spotting go away is to use a super UV protectant called 303. Google it. Other vinyl protectants that work...

    Question: Radiator Stop Leak??

I agree. I swore by stopleak products until I recently replaced the upper intake manifold gasket on my wife's '99 Grand Am GT. On the topside of one of the heads the stopleak had 100% plugged up a 1/2" diameter coolant passage. Never again!

    Weather Stripping Peeling

In my case it's just an esthetic thing.
