    Morning Sickness Fix...

All I can say is WOW. I swapped out a 12oz bit of my PS for a 12oz jug of Lucas and the troubles are over. This stuff is amazing. I was sure that I would be replacing my PS system. This stuff is worth what it cost (which is not much) for sure.

    Start and then die!

I have not scanned the codes...Need to build cable or take to local joint to scan. I don't know the IAC acronym, but I am not getting any SES on the info center if that is what IAC may break to. I will have to check the relays for the MAF, had not. Thanks...I have some homework now.

    Start and then die!

I am getting my sea legs with this car. When I start, the engine jumps and the dies. When I try to restart, it take a few seconds and then fires but is ruff for ~30 secs. The it seems to hunt for an idle up and down. Anyone?

    86 Electronic Climate Control

I signed up for www.ALLDATADIY.com. Good enough for the local GM deal so good enough for me and only $25 for a years subscription. You can add another car for $14. If you have a modern car, the document is updated at some period.

    Hatch Strut replacement tips?

Turns out I got my replacement struts at AdvanceAuto parts for $30 each so $60 + tax for the pair. Well worth the cost as my drivers side strut was worthless. Now, the hatch jumps open; whereas, before I had to pry it up with my fingers. I still have not soldered the leads for the defroster...

    Hatch Strut replacement tips?

Yes, I was wondering where the notion of the left and right came from as I had seen that in some literature. The pair that I bouhgt do not appear to be left or right nor marked as such. I will look again before I start. The two on the car do not have the clips, but a socket setup which I have...

    Hatch Strut replacement tips?

Moonunit, Two things. I like your avatar do-hicky. Also, I did have a question about the defroster and your statement sparked the memory. Both of my wires that attach to the window are broken, but still on the struts. Do you know if you can just solder them back on to the braided wire stuff...

    Morning Sickness Fix...

Stupid question # 612: Is morning sickness when the wheel takes effort to turn as though you have a "dead" spot like no power steering and then you hit a "live" spot where there is power steering? I am suffering these symptoms and also a "oh no" noise from the PS Pump side of the engine...

    Found a cross-threaded plug!

All, Need some advice. I found that the previous owner of my car cross threaded the passenger Cylinder 8. Imagine that. What is the advice from the gallery on how to remedy this? Can I run a tap up the threads and that be that? What about the filings? Thanks P.S. BTW, 1986 AL heads

    B4P Aux Fan Conversion & more ???s

DW of C4ME here, I'm new at this so please be gentle ;) Looks like the main cooling fan relay needs to be replaced on our recently acquired '86 coupe. Is the 84-95 upgraded cooling fan relay worth the expense? What are the advantages? Also, been looking at the #B4P 84-89 Aux cooling...

    Service Manuals

Looking for advice on what to purchase. I have Haynes and as I wresle with a short in my interior lights circuit, I realize that it is not up to task. I looked at the online service ALLDATADIY which, by the way, shocked me at its inexpensive anual subscription of $25 for one vehicle. I have...

    What is normal...safe operating temp?

I have an 86 with aluminum heads and the heavy duty radiator. I have only had the car a few days and ran it only in the driveway (Long story why). I noticed that the temp was hovering around 230ish and peaked at 240 and I shutdown immediately. There is plenty of fluid and the fan was running...
