Finally.. once i replaced the clutch with a new one the I bought from Paragon.. everything worked like it should... SO it looks like that was the culprit.. even though it was a new clutch.. it was the three finger clutch that did not work.. Thanks for all your tips.. Greatly appreciated... Joe

Can somebody clarify what is the correct version of the VIN stamping on a frame? I have seen a frame for a '60 with a full VIN stamped in one location, and a frame with a partial VIN stamped twice on another '60 Frame.. which is correct? :eyerole

All the parts you mentioned are new from Paragon,, except the Z-bar .. Do you mean the clutch bell crank assembly? ;shrug

Just picked up a new diaphram pressure plate, part of the complete new clutch assembly i got from Paragon..

NO free play.. the linkage looks like it is working properly.. think i will try to replace the clutch assembly next

everyting is welded solid and no movement.. the linkage moves but does not engage the clutch... i keep scratching my head,,, could the clutch be instlalled wrong or maybe the wrong one? :W

Ray I am not sure where the clutch came from.. I ordered it thru a local corvette shop.. who i am sure just ordered it from their parts supplier.. I am pretty sure it wasn't NAPA.. HOpe you got all your problems fixed ..

SHIFT PROBLEMS Thanks John.. I just ordered the right throwout bearing from Paragon, since it looks like there is no way to avoid taking the transmission out.. you advice will make sure i only take it out once.. so between the bearing, the fork and the stud.. i sure hope i got it covered...
