Tire Pressures
The factory manual states 30 PSI max. Use a tire gage to set them at 30, after driving a few blocks they should read 30 PSI. If you inflate them to more then recommended you run the risk of wearing out the center of the tire. I think that is what is causing a lot of the poor...
Power
C4C5specialist hit the nail right on the head; to get all that power to the ground especially if the pavement is damp is the real trick. The tires are already as fat as your average American couch potato, & most people can't launch or handle a standard vette, yet alone a supercharged one...
Two valves
Yes, it's cheaper & less complicated, but it gets the job done. There was a 4 valve vette though, remember. It just cost too much to produce and GM wanted to keep the price reasonable. I think it had overhead cams too.
Turbo
I have to disagree with Slong about the Grand National those Buick turbo's blew up a lot and resale value sucked; but now a days turbo's are much more reliable and a V-6 turbo might not be such a bad idea.
