LT4 Performance Cam for the '96 LT4 engine

I saw that Grand Sport with the messed up (to put it politely) hood. That thing had around 120,000 miles on it! I suppose that it's a fine testiment to GM quality, but I don't know who in their right mind would be looking to buy a '96 with that many miles on it. -J.

    Hyper chip

Thanks for the advice! In answer to your question, luckily I don't have any dash squeaks - but I do have an annoying rattle right behind the driver-side left shoulder. That's one of the major drawbacks of owning a C4 as opposed to a C5 - all those noises! -J.

    Hyper chip

Radar, I'm thinking of getting a chip for my '89 convertible come spring. If you had to do it over again, would you buy the Stage I chip or go with the Stage II? Also, I'm wondering how much of a change in acceleration that you actually felt once you installed the chip? Thanks for any help...

    Questions on C4 vettes

Heya, Vett-dreams... I own a 1989 Triple Black Convertible and I've been toying with the idea of selling it for the right price. The thing is, I never have the time to drive it. I'm one of those guys who never drives a vette in rain or snow (and I don't even drive it to work because of the...

    convertable top

Corvettes and the words "taken through carwash" should not even go anywhere near one another in the same sentence. And anyways...isn't it illegal to take a corvette through a carwash? I think the Corvette Protection Agency can take your vette away for that... -J.

    No hidden headlights in 2003.

Here in Detroit, that chance happens all the time. Unfortunately, most of my buddy's in the auto industry work for Ford. :( But, if you want a bit of non-Chevy related gossip...the word from the Ford Wixom plant is that the vast majority of new Thunderbirds can't be sent out due to the fact...

    Tape player ain't working anymore!

Strange...I'm driving around one day and the cassette deck is working just fine. Then the next day, I take the car out for a cruise and notice that when I put a tape in, the player automotically switches it to the other side (as if you were at the end of the tape)! I tried lots of tapes, and...

    Washin'

I just got the California Water Blade (sounds exactly like the other 2 products mentioned earlier) from Corvette Central a few weeks back and I can't decide if I like it or not. On one hand, it does seem to work by getting most of the water off the car very easily before you actually dry it...

Proud new owner of a '96 CE 383

That's awesome, Guessguy!!! The LT4 CE is definately among my favorite of any corvettes ever produced. And to have a Lingenfelter 383 in it - that would be incredible. Needless to say, I'm now your biggest fan. ;) If you're ever in the Detroit area, come take me for a ride! :s So, how many...

    Planning Upgrades = Need Advise

You really recommend the chip and lower thermostat, Jay? The reason I ask, is that I posted a while back asking for input as to the pro's and con's of getting a Stage II Hypertech chip and the 160 degree thermostat and the few reply's that I recieved were pretty negative about using the...

LT4 Whats best for an LT4?

Do yourself a favor and call the Downriver Corvette Salon at (734) 283-8944. Ask for Brian (the owner) or his mechanic (I think his name might be John). They're probably about 40 minutes or so from you, but if that's too far they could at least give you an educated estimate on how much you...

    99 wheel options

I'll take an educated guess and say it's worth about $40,000ish. Do a bit of research and you should be able to find out. Maybe even go to http://www.autotrader.com and run a search on only 1999 corvettes in all areas and see what they're going for. Hope this helps a little... -J.
